Edited to ad.....if a business is showing a profit....they file quarterly.....it is a projection of profit.

I know about the quarterly SE remittance. And I think that first-year immediate depreciation allowance is Section 168 but don't quote me on that.

OP and others: Why is wealth redistribution applauded when it is redistributed from the poor and working classes to the wealthy and completely evil when it goes the other way? The answer that the rich work harder or smarter or just deserve to inherit fortunes are not realistic answers.

The 401K, that I worked for the past 25 years, would disappear. IMO, I'm not a wealthy person, but in such a society that would redistribute wealth, who's to say that I'm not? Look at the "poor" in this country and look at the "poor" in say, Bangladesh, even our poor look "wealthy".

What now? Our poor look wealthy compared to a third world country? That's really flattering, comparing the us to a third world country. That's true though, that's where the conservative policies are taking us....

if you give more money to a parasitic loser, the parasite will simply waste the money. most likely on soft drinks and weed.

People can babble all they want......the fact is there is VERY little a government or, anyone else can do to take someone's wealth without their permission.

In fact this ex-poor person has made many financial decisions.

most people are poor at some point in life. they're called teenagers. I lived in my car when I was 18. if you are 30 and poor, you're doing something wrong.

I figure I went to 'Nam for fun and the GI Bill. That worked well. It paid for my education. What's a little hearing, diabetes and a hell of a case of PTSD compared to that.

Exactly. A huge number of poor people are poor due to bad life decisions. That will never change.
