Maybe 62 year old Mack crossed his fingers and hoped for no medical issues before he was eligible for socialist Medicare - then follow in Ayn Rand's footsteps.
You have to admire this man for standing up for his beliefs, even though they may have been ridiculous.
The fact that so many people donating money to him signed up for Obamacare is just rubbing salt in the wound. Can't they simply write him a check?
At age 62 (and assuming he and his wife were in good health before their health went bad), it's not an entirely unreasonable approach to try to slide through until you qualify for Medicare at 65. Had they not had health problems they would have been okay.

Yea, that is not the greatest way of thinking about that. I dont care how healthy you are, it doesnt take much to have the body go hay wire and all of a sudden your on the hospital or you need surgery.
Happened to me, a healthy young 20 something guy who hiked every day and ate healthy only to find a neurological tumor even though my family had no history of tumors or cancer.
But luckily due to the ACA, i had coverage through my parents because my work didn't offer coverage and I had a pre existing condition, which although never caused me to be hospitalized or see the doc, would have disqualified me for individual coverage.
Because of the ACA i can still walk and I am not owing a house mortgage to a hospital.

Had they not had health problems?
Or not gotten hit by a car, or fallen off a ladder, or caught pneumonia.
Then he begs for charity? I thought Republicans weren't "takers". I guess it's always different when something happens to you....
Spare us the hypocrisy.
If he were a pink skinned transexual in a wheelchair you'd be out passing a tin cup for him, but here you are smearing him with comments like "he begs for charity"

I assume you don't buy into the whole "charity" thing. I think it's wonderful to see people who can afford to lend a helping hand, lend a helping hand. The government has not business in the healthcare business.
