Just shameful. Have the police learned nothing from hosing protesters going back to the 60's? This land was taken from the Native America at the barrel of a gun and now they can't even protect their reservation water and burial grounds.
It's sad indeed, but they are making their voices heard, and the world is watching. The paramilitary forces arrayed against them have come from Indiana, Ohio, Minnesota and South Dakota, why in the world are they importing these paramilitary forces?

You know what I'm tired of? Towns in my state being evacuated and people being killed because this oil is transported by more deadly ways than pipeline.

I'm afraid I don't understand your argument. I never said you did any of those things. What I did say was that immigrants today are in no way doing worse to us than what was done to the Native Americans.

lets go back far enough, when all the land on the earth was one super continent, before tutonic shifts broke it up into the continents we have today...hence NONE of us are immigrants...sigh
I use the word "sacred" in quotations not because it is an Indian site, but because I don't believe very many things are sacred, especially a patch of land that only recently was discovered to be "sacred".

Dumbest post of the thread. The protesters are trespassing on private property. They have damaged and destroyed privately owned equipment. They have blocked honest workers from getting to their jobs. They have blocked public highways. They have set up camps on private property.
The PROTESTERS are the only ones that have initiated the use force here. IF they go back to their reservation, or private property that one of them own, and have a protest, that would be just fine. No one would complain at all, and they could protest peacefully, as long as they wanted. What is going on isn't a protest, it's a violent act-aka domestic terrorism.
I think Indian Casinos are harmful. They hurt those with gambling addictions. Encourage alcoholism. They allow smoking which is not allowed in non-tribal businesses. Because I think they are bayd, should I trespass on indian property and block access to them? Burn the casinos? Attack the workers? If not-why? That is exactly what is being done here.
Since when is a public right of way private property? Since when does the Corps of Engineers have the right to sell treaty lands to oil companies? It was DAPL that set fire to the vehicles on the bridge to block access, not the natives. The workers may be honest, but their bosses are crooks, as corrupt as they come. If the workers don't like it, they need to find an honest employer.
