Isn't there a limit set to this? Where are the checks and balances here?

This is the thing, the hotel rooms are not usually given to the secret service and other staff for free.
That is Uruguay, not Mar-o-Lago.
The Secret Service is already paid for in the budget, regardless where the President and first lady are. That is no extra out of our pockets.
I'm sure Trump pays his staff well.

Like I said, Jet Fuel is the only additional cost.
George Bush didn't charge the federal Government for rent at Crawford, that he owned.
Reagan didn't charge for staying at his ranch in California.

Of course there aren't because King Cheetos does as he pleases....$10 million in 5 weeks is "Trump Change" on our dime.

That is another thing. This deal with Melania staying in NYC, while he is in DC or Florida is very strange. Every other President's wife moved into the WH with her husband on day one. That story about wanting to stay in NYC until the boy finishes school seems a little odd. He could have the best tutors in the world in the WH.

The tab for keeping her in NYC, coupled with him staying in the WH and Mar A Lago, has to be astronomically high. Just the staff and Secret Service personnel alone has to be costly. Add in the plane, the ground transportation, and all those things, and he is costing us a fortune.

"Three trips to Mar-a-Lago since Trump's inauguration may have cost about $10 million, based on a government report from October that analyzed White House travel, The Post said. The expenses include the cost of US Coast Guard patrol boats on the shoreline."

"Palm Beach County officials say they will request reimbursement of tens of thousands of dollars per day from the White House for their deputies who provided security and logistical support around the city.

"Police officials estimate that it would cost New York $500,000 a day, or $183 million a year, to guard Trump Tower, where first lady Melania Trump and son Barron Trump live."

I found this Baltimore Sun article from 1993 about Amy Carter. Interesting.

"One of Jimmy Carter's first decisions as president-elect in 1976 was to send his 9-year-old daughter, Amy, to a public school in Washington, D.C., whose student body was largely black."

"Amy Carter stayed in public schools in Washington throughout her four years in Washington. First she went to Stevens Elementary and then to Hardy Middle, also a predominantly black school."

Donny needs to learn to enjoy Camp David, rustic is nice. I would love to spend my weekends there. I would certainly enjoy it for more than a half hour. It's also a secure facility with the US Marine Security Company Camp David and the Secret Service presence.

The US presidency should be required to reimburse the Treasury for the cost of using military transport while on personal business similar to how it's done in the UK with the Royals and senior government officials. The Queen must pay for the cost of using RAF planes and helicopters for non-official purposes unless a specific security threat necessitates their use. She can't order a helicopter to fly her shopping on the dime (pence?) of British taxpayers.

What's Trump doing in Florida every weekend?

Working and making deals.

No bugged rooms at Mar-o-Lago, and he can talk about grabbing psy, without being recorded while playing a short round of golf.

Mar-o-Lago isn't costing a dime to you. The jet fuel(Basically Kerosene) is the big whopping cost.
You are wrong. It's the security.
The Secret Service personnel, lodging, meals, etc. I'm sure Trump is charging the government for all that.

You just don't want to believe it. It's $3 million per trip.

Why does he have to golf every weekend?
