Multiculturalism has been causing strife in the USA since the 1700s, when English Americans were alarmed at hordes of Germans and Scots Irish coming ashore. In the 1900s there was fear about Catholic immigrants coming in and being more loyal to the Pope than the President. Historically we have chosen immigration over maintain homogeneity because it helps economic growth. What happens is after a while the immigrants assimilate and intermarriage blurs the lines of Us and Them. 100 years from now I suspect they will look at today's anti immigrant hysteria the way we view anti Irish hysteria of the 1900s.
Good God. Stop slaughtering our precious internet bits and just say "WHITEY BAD" and leave it the F at that.
Don't get bent out of shape all at some truths you never wanted to acknowledge.....
Its more than that, because all white people are not the same and all of them are not bad people, and all of them do not have negative mentality, or filled with material and money worship.... so please do not try and reduce the commentary to such misplaced simplicity.....
American history is full of some extreme in atrocities that no amount of internet space can compose to discuss all of it.
the point is that Multiculturalism would not be an issue in America if SOME white people, stop expecting that the rest of all the diverse people of America is suppose to emulate or mold themselves to some TV fictionalization of white culture and white society that the media tries to present.
They have to realize they have fractional bits of many cultures that makes up what they try to claim as theirs. The confabulation of the past is a delusion that continues to makes SOME of them at odds with all other cultures, and truth and fact is, they are a blend of every culture on the planet and only want to acknowledge those they think will give them status. When American would be just another country that never achieved the wealth if it had not been for all the cultures that exist in America.
Multiculturalism would be an issue even if white people didn't exist. Cultures clash, especially those who are coming from places where multiculturalism hasn't been a "thing" for decades, like in most western places with white majorities.
American patriotism and a desire for assimilation, from everyone who wants to live in America, should be something that's encouraged
I have a feeling that whatever it is, it excludes just about anyone who isn't a European white, and probably most of those that are.
Stick your race card back in your wallet. This has nothing to do with race but culture. If you don't know what our identifying culture is then you must not be an American. We aren't Hispanic, Asian, etc. in identity. Does that help you out?
And what is it supposed to look like after the melting is complete? I think we all know the answer, but I'd like to see someone spell it out.
I really want to know what is so awful about different people living together and getting along with each other while maintaining pieces of their own backgrounds.
Watch the TV.... its visible everyday... the media is no longer full of blond hair and blue eyed women as the symbol of beauty.... you see now a lot of dark haired women with some level on tint or tone to their skin and many don't all have straight hair and thin lips, now people are paying money to have some frizz to their hair, and paying to inject something in their lips and their butts, and a vast many people spend time and money in tanning salons, trying not to look as so called white as they may naturally be of skin tone.
American people were mixed before they got there, and they have been and continue to be mixed everyday all over the "entire" world.... When once goes around the globe, there are people who look many ways, of many different ethnic groups and there are variables in every group that may not be common to the majority of the group, so.... what is people has existed longer than man knows... He simply has conjectures he surmise based on something things he found, but truth is, he has no knowledge of how long there has been people or how long the earth and the Universe has existed.
Decades ago, they taught the whole nation of people that there were planets that stopped at Pluto, then they claim Pluto was not a planet, and now every time they point their telescopes they find new planets and new galaxies far and beyond this one and the space is so vast, man's life does not last long enough to navigate it... Heck, we are still trying to get to Mars, and yet, there is so much more that we don't even know and can't fathom to grasp.... of what is the expanse of the Universe.
People may get 70 or 80 yrs of function, instead of tripping, one might be better off trying to enjoy it and appreciate the majesty of it all. Because one thing is certain... Dead is Dead !!!! Why spend time trying to rush ones way to it. You can't escape it no matter what you think or what you do... so you might come out better to appreciate all that is living, including your own life..... Don't let vanity make one any more foolish than generations have already promoted..... If anything work to try and become less vain and more interactively engaging with other human beings. Death will be yours sooner than you want it.... so there is no need to kill yourself trying to get there any quicker, Enjoy the amazing challenges of living and trying to be a contributor into the world of the living. And learn how to share it.... Its likely nothing will be more important in the big picture, other than "giving thanks to God for the Opportunity to have opportunities within living.... Its really rather simple..... "get over ones self' and work on being a better self for ones own sake....
Perhaps this is just a cultural preference however that 'Southern hospitality' when it's not sincere is annoying. Sometimes it seems as if some folks don't really mean it with all that 'come back & see us sometime'. Particularly when one feels the knives in the back when walking out the door.
