Be careful with all that.
If I was a German Jew and sold drugs or stolen items to pay to escape I would have little trouble. And if the cops came for you in that situation I see no moral reason that you would not off a few cops if you could.
Now you are a poor Mexican with a couple of kids and things are not going well and there is not enough money to feed the kids properly and there is no local relief available so you jump the border to your brother's place in LA. I certainly would. Sometimes you have to do things you do not approve of but lack a reasonable alternative.
And i have no particular problem with ICE picking the family up and shipping them back. We are not chartered to relieve all the world's problems. But i hope we will be as human as possible about it.
Bernie is the left of the conventional party...but there are lots of people to his left. And then you can get into the argument over whether libertarians are hard left or hard right and then you have the greens at way left in some dimensions. And then you have the weird way left like the socialists and communist and antifa.
But the Clinton wing and its successors are no where near way left.

I think that is where all the people who said they were going to leave the US (if Trump won the election), avoided saying they would move to, so that must be what they think of Mexico. They all promised to move to Canada. Like all other liberals, they broke their promise.

On balance the libertarians would likely fall somewhere in between. Socially liberal, Financially conservative, puts them, on balance, somewhere in the middle.
