I don't think Trump wants to do it because it can negatively impact his religious voting base. One of the biggest voting base that Hillary alienated is the religious voters tend to vote GOP. I think she underestimated how many religiously voters out there that could've gotten her over but would upset her liberal voters. It's tough to be a democrat these days because many minorities supports Democrats but do not accept gay marriage may end up voting for GOP if their congregation tells them to vote GOP.

He may not be (I don't think he is, btw), but that doesn't mean Pence isn't or Sessions isn't and it does not mean that the SCOTUS won't hear whatever cases they decide to hear once some of them are bumped up to this supposed "conservative utopia" of a SCOTUS his supporters want.

Hell, they could put us in a spot to lose gay marriage, make abortion illegal (note, I didn't say to get rid of abortion, because they have been happening for centuries anyway), and lose marijuana rights.

Oh, but so long as nobody comes for the 2nd amendment that nobody was coming for anyway, right?

LOL.

I laugh, but it's really screwed up.

We need a court with balance to it, not this far-right dream court.

Note: Too many of us "liberals" have guns for enough of us to want them fully banned in the first place.

Nor should he. This is an issue that should be handled by the states.

.
SC needs to hear any cases that merit higher court attention.

No special opt outs.

Let chips fall where they may.

So can we stop talking about it then?

Hillary lost because she is a failure at being a person. Her positions on things like open restrooms were nothing but a smokescreen for her war mongering and to distract from all the money she was taking from Wall Street.

Yes, I would dearly love that!

But, you need to make your pitch to the hyper-emotional, hair-on-fire people who clearly NEED something to freak-out about every dang week. It's a form of adrenaline jolt and they become physically dependent on it. It's true...research it.....an organic form of drug dependence.

I don't know why it's so difficult for people to grasp that the clock is not going to turn back on either issue.
The Lefties are being played by their "leaders" and the MSM. Read the poll on here that the OP of this thread put up. Even HE won't acknowledge how off-base his constant accusations have been relative to what the reality is about how voters feel.

Take a deep breath, my pretties, and find another drug. I recommend the great outdoors.

P.S. The Righties are also being played by some of their leaders about these 2 issues. More the religious leaders rather than political ones. Neither issue is going in reverse much as some may try to promise otherwise (ahem, while they ask for donations. See how that works?)

Agreed.

As far a the spiritual aspects go - gays were entering into religious/ spiritual unions for decades prior to the ruling. The marriage part is a contract governing assets and such.
Agreed

It sure doesn't appear to me that Repubs control all aspects. It looks like the Justice Dept and the FBI pretty much march to their own drummer......

If you want to be normal, do what other people are doing and use your genitalia in the manner nature intended.

If that doesn't suit your fancy, accept the fact that you are not part of the norm and that institutions created to serve that which is normal are simply not for you.
A really pretty crass post but, you have every right to say it, no matter how offensive.

As my gay, now 56 year old daughter said at age 18 when she finally admitted her lesbian proclivities, "why would I choose a life of insult, ridicule and being outside of normal society...?"

She has been in two committed relationships over her adult life, one of 26 years and the legal rights were a long time in coming. That's all they asked. The emotional union had long been in place.

Thank you.

I think Trump could care less about gay marriage but I don't know about Pence and his influence on the president. I hope they let it alone.

And people who think that gay people are a small minority, you should have friends or family members who are gay and actively socialize with them. It is a somewhat underground (for reason)group and a much, much larger segment of the population than you may realize. I was shocked as I have become more aware over the years at the numbers and in all walks of society. Several I would never have guessed in a million years.
