Hotel swimming pools, workout rooms, etc., function that way, for example.
No, the hotel is a private venue and they have the right to question anyone if they are authorized to be in that area.

Are you saying the hotel has a policy that only hotel guests can be present in the lobby? Please provide proof of that. That would contradict the policy of every hotel I've ever been in.

Hotels can and do ask people to leave their public areas.

Homeless people who wander in and fall asleep are not allowed to continue snoozing.

Sex workers plying their trade. Drug dealers selling their wares.

Intoxicated individuals or those experiencing a commotion-causing mental health crisis.

...

Just because the lobby area is open to the public, does not mean that front desk employees and security staff are not alert to what is going on and their responsibility to maintain the ambiance of the hotel.

However, once it had been established that the man was a guest, that should have ended it right there.

At that point, the entire dynamic should have changed. At that point, all they had was a guest who had been argumentative for a short period of time.

This was a case of "I'm not talking to you, I want to see the manager"--and hotels have those all the time.

A manager who can't say at that point, "Well, sir, we apologize. Have this complimentary cookie," really does deserve to be fired. To take it so far as to have someone removed by police for essentially demanding to see the manager is very poor management.

Watch the video (it's 45 minutes long and on YouTube) - the three officers had her under control easily "over and over again."

Nope, which is why I have already provided links verifying it so sorry, but I'm not going to keep looking it up and keep posting the links. [/spoiler]

The link you provided that you said verified the claim, did no such thing.

Basically as long as I am a paying customer, unless I am causing extreme damage or problems with other patrons, there is no issue to be had.

Their words, not mine. I guess take this argument about other videos up with the NY Times or the Seattle Times.

I guess the NY Times made it up. Or the Seattle Times. Or (fill in the blank). I didn't make it up.
