So are we supposed to let the bad acting ones off the hook?

This is the saddest thing I've read in a while. You really walk around in life with your cell phone at the ready looking around for people you can get fired from their jobs or run out of their homes? What a miserable life you must lead. I'll ask my wife to include you in her prayers.

Well keep up the good work, and maybe one day you too can win the ghetto lottery.

IMO a very STUPID way to think.

Say a black thug robs a black woman, The police ask her to describe the robber.

She tells them it was young BLACK guy , about 6 ft tall around 130 lbs.

Should the police waste precious time stopping young WHITE guys, Orientals, 6'5, 230 lbs, woman, Muslims dressed in head gear?

This ACTUALLY happened in Balt.

The police Capt. put out an APB on "young black man around 19 to 23 years old, about 6 ft tall and 130 lbs.

He was REPRIMANDED by the mayor for using "black" in one of his descriptions of the robber.

IF the perpetrator is white, black Hispanic, whatever, it IS IMPORTANT to give the MOST ACCURATE description possible so as to NOT waste the police precious time on people who are no where near who the perpetrator ACTUALLY IS.
And how much time should anyone spend debating these sorts of stories and arguments when in the great majority of cases, race IS included in the description of a fugitive?

Here

Always seems to me this sort of interest or focus is born from an ongoing impulse to focus on race, race relations, and always from the standpoint of deflecting attention from where the problem(s) actually exist. You can just tell from reading the comments in this thread, those who want to dismiss or ignore the problem of racism vs those who understand these problems in the greater context of the norm, not the exception. You can guess as well, those who seem a little indifferent or ignorant of the overall problem of racism, are almost always going to be white, as I suspect is the great majority of people commenting in this forum.

Probably not "oriental" either, and BTW...

Definition of oriental
1 or Oriental : of, relating to, or situated in the orient
2 or Oriental : of, relating to, or coming from Asia and especially eastern Asia
—now sometimes considered offensive especially when used to describe a person
3 Oriental : of, relating to, or constituting the biogeographic region that includes Asia south and southeast of the Himalayas and the Malay Archipelago west of Wallace's line
4a : of superior grade, luster, or value
b : being corundum or sapphire but simulating another gem in color

Just trying to help here, as I suspect more than a few older white males still tend to make these sorts of mistakes, something like Clint Eastwood's character does in the movie out now, "The Mule." Lots of classic hang-over old folk lessons to learn in that movie that are a kick to watch. Unfortunately not really exceptional when it comes to too many old folks who still think a little backwards when it comes to POC.

Judging from the incarceration rates by race in America, I'd say that race doesn't really work in terms of getting "off the hook" generally speaking.

Shouldn't be long, however, before some poor white person who thinks otherwise will post some typical exception-to-the-rule story as part of their ongoing belief that blacks somehow get special treatment.

Blacks have been getting "special treatment" alright, and for an awfully long time now. Too long...
