I have owned a gun since 1956. If you have used guns so much, why do you fear them? Just another tool.
If you are so paranoid that you are willing to give up everybody’s second amendment right, why aren’t you armed to the teeth when knowing a gun ban isn’t happening any time soon?

We wouldn't even need to give up everyone's second Amendment rights - another lie we constantly hear in the name of the stupidest policies that put high-capacity assault rifles in the hands of any young lunatic.
I know nothing will change here, and maybe things will get so bad that I also have to arm myself to make it through the day. Looks like we are heading in that direction. At that point I probably will be paranoid. Probably a lot of other people as well.
But that will be the sign of a failed society, not a successful one.
It's only the truth because conservative gun nuts have made easy proliferation of high-capacity firearms the status quo in this country, fueled by false, self-serving arguments about how we need more guns to finally make us safe.
Your argument is basically a self-fulfilling prophecy: make a society where high-powered firearms are proliferated, and the result is a lot of public massacres that scare the rest of us into arming ourselves just to make it through the day. We'll, sure, under such scenario I guess I and everyone else will have to plan to live in a war zone.
But it's not the truth in other developed nations on the planet who take a common sense approach to firearms restriction.
Oh just stop with the comparisons already. The countries you want us to emulate are the size of one of our states. The United States was unique at its founding and, despite all the efforts of the socialists on the left, it remains unique. Do we have some problems? Yep, we do. Mainly that the illogical leftists refuse to look for actual solutions and wants big brother government to tuck us into bed every night all safe and sound.
Guns are not the problem. It’s more difficult to purchase a firearm than at any time in American history. If the proliferation of firearms were the issue, none of us would be here because our ancestors would have killed each other off. The issue lies in the way we are (not) raising our children to be decent human beings that have any regard for life.
Our society glorifies violence. We normalize it. We teach our kids to fantasize about it. Half of our population defended ADULTS who had crying tantrums after their goddess lost the election that she, in their minds, had such a lock on that many of them didn’t even vote. Adults. Crying. Over a freaking popularity contest, and make no mistake that a popularity contest is exactly what 2016 was. That was not a Presidential election, because neither of the only two candidates that we were allowed to pick from were even in the neighborhood of Presidential. It’s like the two parties dared each other to nominate the biggest ******* they could find and both said, “Okay!!” with a big Mentos thumbs-up and a cheesy grin. The main topic of discussion in society is whether or not Trump is an *******. For two years, that’s been the discussion. Funny thing is, everyone knows that he is. It’s just a question of whether the right ******* won that divides the country.
That’s the example of adulthood that our children get, and it’s been the example for about 4 presidents. No wonder the ones who can’t retain their sanity don’t care that they die. It’s amazing that anyone under 30 didn’t try to crawl back into the womb about 2 minutes after they were born.
But yeah, go ahead and keep thinking guns are the problem.
it has been said many times over the years, when seconds count, the cops are just minutes away, sometimes as much as 90 minutes away(it took that long for TPD to respond to a 911 call where the guy was being beaten. when the cops finally showed up the guy was DEAD).
we have to take responsibility for our own safety. we cant rely on the cops to be right around the corner and jump every time we call 911.
and you dont have to carry a firearm for protection if you choose not to. but you MUST be aware of your surroundings, and you MUST be in touch with nature so you can recognize the signs of impending danger and react accordingly.
How sad this is what our country has become. People are so afraid that they have to carry guns. What happened to us.
Nothing to do with fear, it's called being prepared. Just like when a hurricane is approaching, it's not fear that sends people out to buy large quantities of water, canned food, propane tanks, gasoline for their cars and batteries to be prepared in case the storm hits. Better to have the tools and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

I’m sorry, it is fear. How many other countries walk around with guns because they are in fear of their lives. And please don’t compare this to being prepared for storms because one has nothing to do with the other.
