I may agree that we should have just left. But we thought it would be a good investment to get a peaceful ally and trading partner.

it shows there is no point in appeasing the liberals. they will hate you no matter what you do. after this handling of the iraq war i dont see myself supporting any war that isnt absolutely necessary for our survival.

In reality today's core values of the so-called religious right were once mainstream America. It used to be common sense and proper manners to not use drugs recreationally, to engage in sexuality after you took your wedding vows, to righfully shun abnormal lifestyles such as homosexuality, to not regard the unborn as an accident worthy of abortion, to take responsibility for your own actions without playing the blame game, to be able to afford things before you bought them, to be proud of being an American citizen, to be a legal immigrant that speaks proper English, to be willing to fight for your country, to not fear admitting your faith in God.

Those are beliefs of the so-called religious right, and there is not a single thing wrong with any of them. Society along the way has lost its morality, and we are dearly paying the price for it. The so-called religious right represents mainstream, common-sense family, moral values. To us the pro-homosexuality, pro-amnesty, abortion-on-demand, non-religious, socialist liberal minds of today are the radicals; and that is what the Democrats have become with their far-left agenda.
I am a conservative and I do find some things wrong with the beliefs of the religious right (and yes I call it the religious right).

I will address your comments regarding liberals:

1) pro-homosexuality - no one chooses to be gay. They are not second-class citizens and do not deserve to be treated as such. I'm not for gay marriage, but shunning homosexuality is wrong and no one deserves to be "shunned" for what they cannot control.

2) pro-amnesty - Many liberal citizens are anti-amnesty. The real reason Obama is pushing Amnesty is to gain more Democratic voters. Unfortunately, the blue, blue, blue Congress will likely see the same opportunity. Amnesty will wreck our economy even further and should NOT be granted.

3) Abortion-on-demand - should not be available; I agree with that

4) Socialism - capitalism is far better; I agree with that

The real reason for the war was oil. The money could have been better spent developing alternative energy sources so that we could rely only on American oil and the alternative sources.

War is a liberal policy, not a conservative one!
I keep waiting for all that Iraqi oil to hit our shores. Where are the tankers. Let's think for a minute. Had the war been strictly about oil, we could have bombed the hell out Iraq, taken control of the oil and been done with it. We didn't do that. So many leftwing talking points.

"He" is me. So...go back on those threads and provide quotes (on this one) showing in which way I am "liberal" on abortion.

Yes 75% of the nation is Christian but most of those Christians understand that this is a diverse nation that was founded on the principle of religious freedom and separation of church and state. If the current trend continues, I see the Republican party becoming a right-wing Christian party taking about 15-20% of the vote, and a split in the Democratic party between liberals and fiscal conservatives.
Sorry. The Christine Todd Whitmans and the Rudy Giulianis don't win national elections. You have to have that moral center to win as a Republican.

As far as fiscal conservatism, I've come to a very clear conclusion that it is best for the economy and for everyone.
It so happens that what's right is also what's religious 99% of the time. That's a problem for you anti-religious folks, isn't it?

The pigs kept him down - and they were on both sides of the aisle.

The pigs are anti-American.
