And wasting the people's money is wasting the people's money...you think $700,000 is peanuts,THAT is why the fedgov. is drowning in debt.

$85/night for a room at Biltmore, I wish I could negotiate that.
$1000 a person including round-trip air from wherever in the US, food, hotel, EVERYTHING? For how many days? Wow, that is an astoundingly GREAT deal.

"Costs for the conference at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa included airfare, hotel entertainment, dancers, motivational speakers, and food"

wow!

Phoenix in July is not exactly a high demand area. I'm sure the SSA got quite a deal on hotel rooms.

It doesnt matter if its cheap. What matters is they spent it when they shouldnt have spents a penny for any of it. Obama said that companies cant waste taxpayers money on conferences doesnt that apply to his white house?

It appears not...it is perfectly okay for the fedgov. to waste money.

It is quite amusing to see all the leftists here defending wasteful government spending....

But they complained when the companies that got tax dollars wanted to have a scheduled conference. They fully supported Obama telling them they cant use tax dollars to pay for it

Actually, I've said that Bush was a liberal back in 2005 during Usenet discussions and well before the election. I even badmouthed McCain and grungingly supported Obama hoping that he'd make a difference. Not anymore

So, Obama = Bush and there's nothing you can do about it!
