And they better take advantage of it, God knows enough newspapers have folded their tent over the last few years.

This pis*in*g contest going on in the media with the Jets and the Patriots has certainly gotten the attention of the NFL upper echelon, in fact there was a statement I read in USA Today warning both parties about getting carried away with this stuff.

This rhetoric reminds me of another "colorful"defensive back about, oh say 47 years ago in SB-I. Fred "The Hammer" Williamson. Before the Chiefs/Packers match in Super Bowl I Williamson was running his mouth all week about how he was going to put all the Packers receivers in his hip pocket and go after them with "The Hammer" (one of his forearm moves he would use against receivers.")

Halfway through the third quarter the Packers were pulling away from the Chiefs and Bart Starr was personally beating Fred Williamson like a drum. Early in the fourth quarter Williamson was carried off the field with a concussion when Donnie Anderson steamrolled him, and hit him in the helmet with his knee. By 1968 "The Hammer" was playing in the Canadian Football League.

When asked about the rhetoric used by the opposition against the Colts in big games, Johnny Unitas would always say the same thing. "Talk's cheap."

I don't disagree...

I think its a good idea to be pumped up and you can say some things, but the Jets got carried away w/this stuff during the week....(I fully believe that).

Having said that though, to me, it doesn't matter when the whistle blows.....we'll see what happense today.

I think we'll witness something similar to the Boston Massacre later on.

Pats 42 Jets 10 only 42 for the Pats because Brady will be taken out for rest (for the championship game next week) before the 4th quarter - lol!

I admit the Pats are the much better team.

Maybe the Jets should play barefooted, that might help to add a few extra points.

Doesn't look like it's going to happen.

If you are a Patriots fan this is a huge upset.
