Quite possible that Robert Griffin III will miss the entire 2013 NFL season. Jesus ****ing christ.

Way to go, Shanny. RG3 has the heart of a warrior. He will not willingly come out of the game, and I don't blame him at all. It is the coaches responsibility and they should've played Kirk Cousins coming out of halftime in the 3rd quarter.
Those reports have turned out to be false reports so far. While it might still turn out to be true that Griffin re-injured that ACL, there have been no clear conclusions on the full extent of the injury let alone how long Griffin is going to be out.

Griffin's appointment with Dr. Andrews is at 1:30 pm. Hopefully we'll know a little more toward the end of the day.

As for blaming Shanahan, I think you're having a bit too much of a knee-jerk reaction (no pun intended). You just don't know what goes on during a game, especially a playoff game, on the sidelines.

so complete reconstruction of the knee...yikes.

Dr. Andrews says 6-8 months, so we'll see what happens. Robert Griffin is a fit, healthy, 22 year old workaholic, so here's to hoping he'll push right through and be ready for the pre-season (i hope he does very little in training camp, let him rest). At worst, he might be back by November.

Just a sample of his work ethic: When RG3 tore his ACL while at Baylor in 2009, he was in a wheelchair throwing passes to his dad on the practice field. he also studied the playbook while laid up in the hospital.

Dr. Andrews, and an ortho specialist on Mike and Mike ESPN this morning both said that, if everything goes well, RG3 will make a 100% recovery. Now, will he still have sprinter speed? Maybe not, but he'll still be mobile enough to create time and scramble outside the pocket, and run if necessary. Just remember to slide, Robert!

hopefully he can work through it ... sounds like an LCL injury with his previous work on the ACL essentially becomming undone ........ 6-8 months is not a bad prognosis

on a side note - is there a reason why the redskins use this injury shack? ......... my wife saw the condition of the field and then this shack and wondered how old the stadium was because everything looked awful - it's not that old .... I can see the desire for a quick look in a private setting ..... but it seems like having a golf cart work through the tunnel back to the trainers room can provide a better environment to look at something so potentially serious

Look what I found- pics of that lil shack exam room at Fed Ex Field – EB's World

Cool, I always wondered what it looked like inside there LOL

I think they built it for that reason though...be able to take a quick look at an injury, in private, without having to cart a guy all the way to the locker room.

If they are doing it in Richmond this year, I might make an effort to attend. I have never attended training camp before, and I told my wife I think it would be the best time to actually get an autograph from a player.

Just an FYI/update for interested Redskins fans.

Its a good read, and I am now a lot more convinced that RG3 being ready for the season is a realistic time table

Dr. James Andrews has been using stem cell injections to help increase the recovery time of athletes' knee injuries, which explains the optimism for RGIII's quick recovery timeline.
