So according to this article,

"As a bodybuilder, you are constantly trying to define yourself. Continually improving on previous definitions of yourself or re-defining areas of a particular interest. Having a complete definition is our goal. We live for it. We strive to have it."

I think some bodybuilders have the same mentality as professional athletes. In a way, I admire their strength and dedication, but you cannot deny that SOME bodybuilders take their work too extreme. Life is a balancing art, SOME of them really don't and cannot see life besides bodybuilding. I think the obsession can create conflicts in a romantic relationship. I cannot put words in other poster's mouth, but I think maybe this is what the poster above you was talking about. I could be wrong though.

I think that men with nice, toned, muscular physiques are very nice to look at

However, I don't require my man to have muscles. If he has them and they look healthy, great! If he doesn't have them but still looks wonderful, that's great, too!

I do not disagree with this at all whatsoever. There are definitely CERTAIN bodybuilders like this.

To judge all male bodybuilders based on your experience dating one is pretty poor, however.

It is not any notice about symmetry and aesthetic. Big muscle can be aesthetic, depend who is in question. Bob Paris is example. But for huge majority it do not look good. I go to gym at average once per week and have laugh at meathead who suffer to have big muscle.

I dont think i would date a body builder again because the last time he had no time for me at all. He trained twice a day, worked, sorted food and went to bed. He was so strict so he would never eat a meal with me or go out for food. This kinda put me off.

I'd never say never though

Today it have physique competition for men. I think to compete at senior level. I will post a picture in my avatar for a day in shorts. It is how they compete. I drink 6-9 beers every night and do not care to much what I eat. I think that is physique competition normal.
