My statement was not a random comment from thin air, it was based on one person's account of what it was like to be a male on Tinder. You'd have to be mentally impaired not to realize my response, which quoted his statement, was specifically addressing the aspect of male life that he had related. For most people this is a no brainer- but then there were always kids in school who struggled with the basic rules of reading comprehension...
I don't get where quoting someone else changes the context of what you said. It's still a blanket statement. I don't understand why it's it's so hard to say, "Some men are so desperate. You get a glimpse into the their minds and it's straight up depressing." or alternately, "Some people are so desperate. You get a glimpse into the their minds and it's straight up depressing.".
I'll work on my reading comprehension while you work on your writing comprehension.

How people use it is one thing, but it was not exclusively marketed as a hookup app. Studies have shown hookup culture altogether is a good bit overblown in the media and the pubic eye.
