Today I washed the windows inside and out, doing general housework, then chillin since it's nice out today. Probably BBQ for dinner again tonight. Our Ugandan 'daughter' arrives tomorrow for 2 months.

Spent a stressful hour and half at the airport waiting for our Ugandan 'daughter' who didn't appear for ages. Phone call from immigration. Sorted. She's here and culture shocked.

Tried out new foods on our Ugandan visitor - strawberries, grapes, clementines, toast with jam. She loved them all. She is very much enjoying a hot bath. (never had hot running water before).

Will do. We gave her a (British) bacon and tomato sandwich for lunch. She'd never had bacon before. Loved it. Had 2 of them!

Huey Lewis and the News and America in concert at St Pete - nice to hear the old songs - and $5 admission price was a bargain.

Fun little party with my volunteer group today. So hot and steamy that I'm feeling exhausted afterwards.
Can't wait for this front to pass & get a few days cool off & dry air.

My dying cat is in yet another rally with his increased meds. Caught him hunting a bug!

I'm learning about my resident groundhog, Chuck now that I'm home so much more. He loves cilantro. I would not have thought he would since it has such a strong flavor. He also favors clover and my kohlrabi leaves. He took a chunk out of one of the knobs but mostly eats the leaves.

I harvested several of the kohlrabi today but there's a lot more to do. I juliened them in my processor, blanched then divied it up into meal-sized portions & froze for future meals. Its a lot of work but I'll be glad in the winter. I also put all the electrical face plates back on now that the walls are painted. I still have trim to do but it is nicer to have the plates on.
