Which is also what most women prefer TODAY. You see, it's not like on TV. Real life women want "manly men" (guys with a backbone). And that includes women age 20-50 (my primary point of reference).

"backbone" = "beat up other guys"? That's how it's defined?

No thanks. My wife, who works in the justice system, sees plenty of guys with what you seem to think is 'backbone' in the courthouse every day receiving jail terms and restraining orders. She's got no interest in living with a thug.

No, what you be speaking of are "boys". Most came from single-mother-welfare-homes, so therefore were never taught how to "be a man" (who was supposed to teach them?). Bring back those archaic old days, where a mother and father weren't yet considered "optional".

Buddy, he THE man!

Teen son of a welfare mom or former mayor of Providence, a thug is a thug.

Taveras is a thug? I thought he was such an "angel".

I think we are getting a little off track. We are not talking about duking it out in the street like a bunch of animals here. This discussion is about the former mayor who was CHEATED on. FYI, cheating is at the bottom of the barrel among all despicable behaviors (not far after murder). I will say that while I am an extremely non-violent person, that is an exception I will make. A casual attitude towards cheating, I think is a type of mental illness.
Then Buddy must be mentally ill, since he admitted to cheating throughout his marriage.

But rules are for other people, not for Buddy!

Besides he had his own personal police guard to protect him from beatings. And none of that dreadful street fighting for him, he administered his beatings on Power Street. So much classier.

Had he duked it out in the street with DeLeo, at least it might have been a fair fight, instead of a beating issued with the threat of arrest if the recipient defended himself.

They were divorced - and Buddy never respected his marriage vows.

And using the police force to do something illegal, that's our business.

Yeah, just imagine - Taveras, despite growing up rough never beat up anyone or acted like a thug. Cianci was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, the son of a doctor - and acted like a thuggish bully who was entitled to anything he wanted, despite having two parents.

So much for your theory.

Maybe Taveras benefitted by not having parents rich enough to pay off his victims, so he had to fly straight, unlike Buddy.

OK, so you must have known both of them personally; and you must have read all the evidence and all the testimony. If you ever get called for jury duty, please get recused because you would be unable to return a fair and balanced non-prejudiced decision. If you have been on a jury, well ..... your pre-conceived notions speak for themselves.
