I lived at Babcock and Huebner for 17 yrs from 1959-1976 then moved to Helotes. I remember there were only 3 high schools in NISD and I used to ride my horse cause we were under the 2 mile limit.

Where did you go to school? My best friend in junior high lived off Babcock on W. Beverly Mae. We went to Northside Jr. High and then to Northside High (before they changed the name to John Marshall).

Was it a Swenson's?
Or was it the tiny one that is on the JC Penny wing (but very close to the center spoke)...I think they sold cookies too?

I just looked through the directory on the Ingram Park Mall website. I went to the grand opening of that mall and I remember that Radio Shack was there giving away a bunch of pretty cool freebies. Bakers and 5-7-9 have been there a long time, if not from the beginning. I used to shop at 5-7-9 when I wore size 0 and size 1--I will never wear those sizes again!

In response to the question about the ice cream place: I scanned the listings for "Specialty Food" in the directory and I don't remember any of those places being there in the early days.

Yes I rememeber AM STEREO.. I think you could do it with two radios..It was called side band in radio lingo..The problem was that it still didn't sound as good as FM

I could easily be mistaken, but I remember that KEXL (or the frequency that would eventually become KEXL) would come on at 11pm. Until that time slot, it was classical. This was around 69 or 70. I was loyal to KEXL for as long as I lived in SA.
Am I mistaken?

Default Ice cream place at Ingram Park Mall

The ice cream place at Ingram Park Mall was Bob's. They are an original tenant at Ingram. I thought maybe the name has changed but the store should still be there.
