It WAS humid and hot today, I think it's close to a record high. This does suck if this is Spring...but it's going to cool down a teeny bit next week. Counting down the days 'till late Fall....

And RD, they are turning people away at KFC if they are using the coupon...I went at 3pm and there was a line of people filling out rain checks. All this trouble for a $4-5 meal? Well, I guess anything helps in this current financial crisis. Funny thing is, all the people wasting $5 of gas trying to get to KFC...

Probably did...because it had nothing to do with what the poster was speaking of. I'll lay off you now...you've had enough.

The quickest way to lose water is to lose trees. In living memory, the best examples are the Amazon rain forrest and Israel. Israel used to be lush green until it got denuded of its trees by farming and development. That's what started the "Plant a tree in Israel" movement that began, I believe, in the 60's. It was to try and regain the rain lost. Trees clean the air and generate rain, and then help prevent runoff of that rain. They also give you shade to park under. Nothing hotter than parking your car midsummer in the middle of a concrete parking lot with no trees. Trees are perfection. I am, of course, recommending indigenous trees rather than transplants that don't belong there and require extraordinary measures to keep alive, like excess water.

We're going to the Missions game tomorrow afternoon. Maybe the players will all hold umbrellas for the heat.
