Again, I’m not interested in your squabbles or your forum politics, which I’m well aware. I’m interested in discussing SF - and adventures in sailing! So if you have something pertaining to the thread to add (for a change) - great!
Of course there's not. It was clearly shown you made a statement that was incorrect and had no valid support for it which makes you look foolish.
Your idea of personal jabs are those that respond to your own which means you can try to dish it out but are very sensitive to a reply.
I'm not angry with you, that's just your own perception.
Just remember who started the off topic with jabs at Piedmont, that was you. You merely got responses to it which became part of the thread because YOU started with it, not someone else.
Clearly you don't understand how a public forum works.

and the truth about the OP comes out. He picks the fights, someone responds, then he comments that the responder makes personal jabs against him and goes off topic when he was the one that pushed it that way.

Are you referring to me? How is asking for a few examples of what you like about SF or the Bay Area being a troll? It’s the topic of the thread - lol.

You can't live on views. You still have to afford to live. I just couldn't do it anymore.

I do miss the music festivals and 4th of July fireworks off Fisherman's Wharf.

There are a few things I don't like about living in SF, but I have a mostly positive view of the place.

Some of the things I like:

- Great weather.
- Great views are often a part of your day. Many times I am just going about my day-to-day business in SF and then, wow, I am treated to a spectacular view of the bay, the ocean, the hills, the skyline, etc.
- Great walking city. Lots of nice places to get lost.
- Location, location, location. You can quickly get to Yosemite, Lake Take, Monterrey, Sonoma, Napa, Muir Woods...
- The possibilities for activities that go with the above: skiing, rock climbing, world class hiking, scuba, surfing, sailing, great wines.
- Close to Oakland, Berkeley and many other cities adds to the variety.
- Easy to get around. (if you avoid MUNI )
- A strong sense of place. If you were to be teleported into SF, you would almost immediately know where you were. (The victorians, the cable cars, the hills, the views)
- Many people you meet will have advanced degrees, be well traveled, well educated, etc.
- Pretty good selection of restaurants, bars, museums...
- Not too many Chicago Bears fans.

Not too many 49ers fans the past few years either - lol. That said, we have Oracle Park.

I don't like SF right now but a couple decades ago when I was working there it was pretty sweet. The entire Bay Area was great IMO. These days all you can really say is a PRO is "diversity of food", which is great and all but doesn't make up for the CONS that come from living here. I'd take less trendy restaurants and coffee shops and more cheaper housing and lot's of jobs anytime.
