This is a POLITICS thread hidden in the Self-Sufficiency and Preparedness Forum under the guise of "bugging out".
Evidenced by NOBODY talking about bugging out or any type of self sufficiency need.
Especially the OP who only discussed politics and got Trump's positions wrong while doing so, anyway.
You are entitled to your opinion, even if it is wrong. There is a large and growing anarchist movement in America. Combine that with the apocalyptic Christians who are praying for the end of the world, and we have a severe social problem. Put an ignorant and erratic buffoon in the presidency, and it's hard to estimate how much damage he could do.
The anarchists in the House of Representatives have already blocked any constructive legislation since they took over. They threatened to make the US default on its debt twice, in 2011 and 2013. If they succeed, you can say goodbye to imports. That means half of our wood fiber, most of our fresh vegetables, all of our consumer electronics, clothes and shoes, most of our car parts, etc. In very short order, daily life would come to a grinding halt. It would put us into serious survival and prep territory. Just slashing SNAP would throw millions of Americans into starvation. Your supermarkets would be gone because roving gangs of hungry people would have trashed them. Starving people are not orderly citizens.
I have never been a big fan of bunker mentality survivalism, but if Trump gets in and the anarchists hold on to Congress, I wouldn't want to live in a city anywhere in America.
With the election polls evening up, it looks like there is a real possibility that Trump might win. If he does, life in the good old US of A will change radically.
1. He will let congress cancel Obamacare. Health insurance companies will shed high risk clients like a golden retriever sheds water after a swim. Right now, 90% of Americans have health insurance. A year after Trump we'll be back to the pre-Obamacare 70%, and the ones who get dumped are the ones who are really sick.
2. Congress is itching to shed Medicare. If we end up with Ryan's voucher plan, it's going to get expensive fast.
3. His tax cuts for the rich program will bump our national debt from 80% of GDP to 102% of GDP in 10 years. On the plus side, a massive government borrow-and-spend program might finally bring down the dollar, at the cost of rapid inflation. If he really manages to default on foreign debt like he says, the dollar will turn into toilet paper overnight.
I have never been much into metals, but I think if Trump gets elected it will be time to buy gold and silver. I'm really hoping that congress buys the $650 million debt he owes to the Russians and Muslims. It's uncomfortable to think of the US president's finances being in the hands of Russians and Muslim religious fanatics. He has already said that he wants to give the Arabs nukes, and that would let the nut cases in the Middle East start a nuclear war. If that happens it really will be TEOTWAWKI.
What kind of plans are you making?
I would suggest that you leave before the election. Flight delays will be shorter without all the Hollywood types and other subversives tying up the emigration lines.
You are absolutely wrong. You just made up everything you wanted to say with no concrete research to back you up.
The Pew Global Research Center (well-respected) has come to the conclusion that "As Obama Years Draw to Close, President and U.S. Seen Favorably in Europe and Asia
Few overseas confident that Trump can handle foreign policy"
All I read about Obama is arrogance and oversized, condescending ego.......and I consider The Atlantic a respected rag.....
Of course, he likes Merkel, she is packing the country with Muslims. France.....all I can say is socialism.....
England, Cameron is gone and Obama made a fool of himself on more than one occasion re England. They really resent his belief that he knows better what they should do than they do themselves. Trust me, I have relatives there. Ordinary Britishers and expats are not enamoured of Pres. Obama. Who knows what Spain is about ? They are floundering as much as we are, IMO.
And the Israel/Obama situation is a joke if it were not so disrespectful. That man doesn't know what it is to live with constant fear of being bombed, shot, stabbed.....the Palestinians are not going to budge on living together. Face it.
And, most Americans are still open mouthed at our supreme leader bowing and scraping to other heads of states.
He will gone before long and we will suffer through worse and worser so, lets let it lie.....
Most of us here wouldn't want to live in a city anywhere in America, either!
Unfortunately, the population flow is headed the other direction, as the whole world becomes more urbanized and rural areas empty out. Most of the people in this forum are urbanoids, concerned with home invasions and self-defense, not where to find a grocery store.

I don't know a single Christian that prays for the end of the world. And of the tiny number that might do that... they are hardly a "severe social problem".
You want to see a severe social problem? Turn on your TV and watch protests by Black Lives Matter and their affiliated Marxist agitators. THAT is a social problem.
... as the whole world becomes more urbanized and rural areas empty out.
I don't see this happening anytime soon. In fact, there's a trend toward homesteading, off-grid lifestyles, DIY, home gardening and livestock, and simple country living. People are tiring of the rat race, and can't afford it anymore. For you to not see this trend, just shows your biases.
"Load Em Up" ... "Fly Em Out" !!!!! ... Far , Far Out of the STATES !

These unfortunate folks who made the pitifully ludicrous statements about "getting out of the States If Mr. Trump Wins" may well be leaving very soon indeed ! ... Mr. Trump wins and they don't leave ... the disgraceful public embarrassment may well be so overwhelming as to strongly compel these little "DINO" darlings to leave our beloved America for the long term !!! ... The airlines had better get a whole bunch of planes ready at least a week before the election ! ...... All of us flyers know that a "Speedy Departure" is always the best !!!! ....
