I loved Jack Black and Casey preforming together. That was fun and a highlight for me since I love them both. And Haley with Tony Bennett---how cool is that! I also enjoyed seeing Tom Jones. I had such a crush on him back in the 70s. It was also fun to see Carrie Underwood again. She sure has become a seasoned performer.
All and all it was a great show. The only part I didn't enjoy was Lady Gaga when she and the guy laid down and simulated sex. I thought that was totally inappropriate for show that draws in so many teen viewers and it was visually awkward.

Really, though, I'd put Jack Black's role in the film version of the novel "High Fidelity" as more of a breakout performance in the mainstream for him than Tenacious D (much as I love the D).

AMEN! But, after seeing the shoes she wore when mentoring those kids, I wasnt surprised at anything she'd do. There's a difference between entertaining and shocking -- and I dont think she or her audience understands that.

I disagree. "High Fidelity" is a cult film, and while those who love it know it well, there are a LOOOOOT of people who never even heard of "High Fidelity" that bought the Tenacious D album (which went platinum). "Tribute" was HUGE and was all over MTV when I was a teenager. Tenacious D was a lot larger on the cultural scene than "High Fidelity" was at the time.

See, and where I am, Tenacious D is every bit as cult-y.
Glad Scotty won. He will be performing on Jay Leno Thursday night.
Thanks for this heads-up. Will he also be on one of the morning shows tomorrow?
