Who knows? There may be more C4 on that plane. But I am sure that MIB knows whether there is and if so he knows where it is and how to deal with it. He may also know how to fly the plane, since obviously, it was his plan to leave the island that way after killing all the candidates. I halfway expect Penny to show up with transportation to get Desmond and any other (non-MIB) survivors that want to leave like she did the last time! Or Eloise even.
I guess I just dont understand your attachment to Frank. He has added very little to the show other than being a pilot.
It is a 2 and a half hour episode to wrap everything up and you want one of the most insignificant characters in the show to take up screen time? No thank you. Too much to cover to focus on him.
The plane is rigged with C4. I dont think anyone is going near that thing. Sayid is the only person that is qualified to disarm a bomb and he is dead.
I don't think I would ever be able to explain to you why I like Frank. I don't see him as insignificant at all. He was supposed to fly 815 and I think that's important. You have your opinion and I have mine. I'm not trying to get you to change your opinion, so please leave mine alone. I really don't understand why this bothers you so much. I take the show seriously and I'm just having a little fun. Don't you like to have fun? Oh and I do like the actor who plays Frank and I like his character. I don't know what else to say about the matter. I still have 4 days till the expiration.
Please let us posters have our attachments or dislikes for whatever reason...
I think Frank is not really a key character, but it is somehow intriguing he has been around for a while and died so suddenly. I mean, other characters have died suddenly as well, but they have significantly played a role in Lost. There might be something else to Frank.
Please bring Richard baaaaack!!
And please give Miles to the smoke monster!!
I like Frank and Miles...not my real favorites on LOST, but still don't want them to die. The only one who SHOULD cease to exist is the smoke monster/MIB! I hope that John Locke will "let go" in whatever way...if that helps us destroy the monster. And Ben needs to help...although I don't know how...I think Jack knows.
Okay, the DVD for this season will be available August 24th, according to Amazon.com.

Leaving the Island by plane was never his plan. The plane was just a carrot-on-a-stick to get the Candidates all together in one place so he could get them to kill each other, thereby insuring there would be no replacement for Jacob.

I was thinking the same thing, except I don't think you want Ellie to show up.

It's only important to the extent that he was supposed to fly 316. Frank is a damn good pilot, but no pilot could handle 815. Frank would have died. Frank was needed to land 316, and was probably one of only a handful of pilots who could have successfully landed 316 (and also be steered to the Island), not to mention the fact that Frank was at least somewhat familiar with the Island and its anomalies.
It was precisely because Frank was supposed to fly 815 and didn't, which leads him to join the Freighter team and find out what happened to 815, which brought him to the Island in the first place.
Frank's function was mostly misdirection, leading viewers to believe that they could and would leave the Island by plane, except now they can't.
I really do think that MIB wants to leave the island! He's going to try to destroy the island...and if he does, there would be no island for him to hang around. I think that part of the monster that is Jacob's brother has wanted to leave the island for a long time. And the pure smoke monster part is bored with killing inhabitants of the island. It could kill SO much more people elsewhere!
BTW, there was something in the paper about a lot of sites popping in order up to infect computers with malware following a web search using the word"LOST". Just be careful, use only trusted sites and don't download anything!
I just read an interview with the actress that played Ilana, and she said originally she was actually supposed to be Jacob's daughter. But due to time issues they had to end it the way they did
She was one of my favorite characters, and she would have had a key role
I think it ends 500 years in the future with jack on the beach fixing breakfast. Lock walks up beside him and sits down beside him...."you know Im going to try and kill you someday" says Lock" Jack: " I know, and Ill be here when you try." You hear a crash on the Island (audience guesses it must be a plane) and they zoom back in on jacs eye. The end.

Thank you Miaiam! I know you understand and I'm not giving up on Richard yet.
Lee W. Thank you too! And thanks for the info about the DVD. I thought they were going to make us wait till December. I should be ready by then to do a rewatch of all 6 seasons. Yay!
