I am glad that I am not the only one that thought that the band sucked!
I am not a Lady GaGa fan so there's that. Harry is getting on my nerves a bit. Randy is a crappy coach. MK is so boring and just has to go <yawn>. CJ, oh my, what a horrible night.
I told DH the same about Harry last night. Shut up already.
Was JLo lip synching? That takes away all her credibility if she was, imho.
JLo has always lip-synched in her previous AI performances. I'm not watching this season and so didnt see her performance last night but there's no reason to think that she sang live when she's never done it before now.
The consensus seems to be she was singing live when she was on the steps with former contestants Alison Iraheta, Pia Toscano and Jessica Sanchez, but lip synching during her solo performance.
I heard last year when J-Lo "performed live" it was really a pre-taped performance. I bet this year's was the same, I'm offended that they try to trick the tv viewers into believing that she went backstage, did her hair up the way it looked, changed her clothes, performed and then came back with her other outfit back on and hair back down, and she was literally tugging at her hair, like look, I took it down. I really like her but I'm offended that she tried to pull one over on me!

I put Jena above Alex because i feel that the biggest flaw that the singers have this season is there's NO PASSION. These singers are just not "Feeling it" and at least jena seems like she has a little "life" for lack of a better word.
There is no passion whatsoever, nobody is FIGHTING for survival, they just don't "get it". I would say that CJ is probably the only one who has shown at least a touch of emotion and singing with PAIN, but the others? Its just words, there's no real desperation, you don't get the feeling that if any one of these singers lose its no big deal.
MK is a great example. She got put into a position to sing for "her life" and she just went thru the motions and really looked like she didnt even want to be there, there was no sadness or "hurt" in her eyes, when she sung "perfect" the other night, you would think that all the pain she's had in her life (if she's had any, i dont know her back story) would have come out in that song, she would have had the judges with tears in their eyes, but no, just sung words, hollow words.
This is an interesting year because if the lightbulb goes on for ANY of these singers, they can steal the entire thing....they just have to sing like their life depends on it and so far, nobody really has done that. Its not even about singing talent at this point, its about who can SELL real emotion.

This happens all the time. If you remember the big elaborate dance productions or star performances on Dancing With the Stars, those were all filmed in the hour or two prior to the show going live.
Kudos to MK's stylist for finally convincing her to not look like Justin Bieber.
Pumped Up Kicks is supposed to be upbeat, so smiling isn't that odd. It would have been more odd to be somber while singing an upbeat arrangement.
The thing about Jessica is she seems to only have one emotion: stoic. It is almost as if she is numbed inside. I noticed it first when the contestants formed into groups, and she had reason to be pissed, but still remained subdued. I think this will bring her down soon.
I'm glad I don't have to look at MK anymore. I thought she was beautiful and talented, but I guess I just don't understand lesbians trying to look ugly.
Caleb's Skyfall was beautiful, and he is genuinely talented, but he seems a bit "convinced" and over confident, which I think will offend people.
I am thinking Alex will win; humble and super talented.
Well, given that this season's idols are pretty crappy, Harry's got alot to be critical about. lol!!

I agree. Harry is super talented and knowledgeable, and he has enough integrity to give honest criticism. I also thought his performance was awesome.
