I thought this was a really good episode. I like how the ONE person who really loves that baby was still awake and holding her while the pretend parents snoozed away. Janine is crazy but she loves that baby and some skin on skin contact and love is just what the baby needed.
I feel like Serena is having SERIOUS second thoughts about what she hath wrought. Her husband shaming her in front of June . . I did not expect that. I didn't expect wives to be treated in that way . . but then again . . why not? What's to stop the man of the house from beating his wife? Not a thing.
I hope a bunch of the wives . . also rise up.
I srsly want to see Serena and June join forces to take Gilead apart but we'll see.

I think she's somewhat more likely than Aunt Lydia to at least indirectly help the rebellion. Serena just wanted power, which she has much less of than she bargained for. Aunt Lydia seems like a true believer who thinks the Gileadean way of life is helping the world.

Yes, I don't remember the name of it, but in some situations skin to skin with mama, especially against the heart, will sometimes heal something medical intervention simply cannot. It was very powerful to me.
Made me wonder how many of them would realize that, even though it will not change anything. Lydia and the Drs would be most likely to realize that. In fact I am positive Lydia did. The adpotive Mom is a shrew in general. If that even passed through her mind, she would quickly dismiss it.

Lydia knows for sure. June knows; Serena knows. The adoptive Mom doesn't care about the baby - other than society tells her she has to have one.

I think she cares about the baby the same way some people IRL do - as a thing. An accessory. Plenty of people raise their babies the way she does. Annoyed with them, passing them onto nannies. If she realizes what happened, it would just enrage her. Janine has something she never can.
The tears rolling down the faces of the people that know and care and witnessed the miracle was really good. I will probably watch that again. The women together saved that baby, something no man could have done, which was another aspect and why the epi was named 'Women's Work'. They did triumph , even if there was a price to be paid.
It would have been cool if the female specialist had saved her, but this was even better. Her consult WAS of great use. 'Take her off the machines'.
They jumped the shark long ago. I can't watch it. LOL
Jumped the shark like in what way? The book ended with last season so this is all new. And you're missing some good stuff. Last episode was one of the best episodes yet.
I love the direction it's going...I'm so hoping June and Serena join forces. It will be a really slow process but oh what a team!

The way the women got pregnant was just too much. Sorry but it made me laugh how stupid it was. I just could not get past that and thought if this series is this dumb I won't waste my time.
Ok I just saw the previews for this week's show and it looks AWESOME.
It looks like Serena is made an offer that I hope she can't refuse.
Yes!! I sincerely hope she can't refuse it. I've been meaning to watch the series from Episode 1 but I can never seem to find the time.
