It would go in line with the bike lanes they are creating on Oxon Hill Road as well as what is available on WWB and the Heritage Trails

I don't see any issue regarding bike lanes in NH, but wondering if they will allow BikeShare Station at one of the Parking garages.
it would be great if we have a station at NH and one up at Tanger and and another one somewhere in S Washington so that ppls can cross Potomac and visit NH, very simple.

A very simple step to give access to none driving visitors of NH from Alexandria.

Default Prince George’s County looking for citizens to sit on casino advisory board

Quote:
Prince George’s officials are looking for residents interested in serving on a board advising the county on matters related to the upcoming MGM gaming facility in National Harbor.

Barry Hudson, spokesman for County Executive Rushern L. Baker III (D), said state law requires that a community advisory group be formed in every county with a gaming facility.

The council consults with the county on issues relating to the gaming facility, according to the county website

I was on tanger outlet's website this evening and saw that Brookstone and Vince Camuto are coming to the outlet. I wonder if they will be bringing other stores for the holidays

They still aren't 100% leased?

Hmmm. I would say about 95% last time I was there I counted about 4 or 5 smaller spaces that were still available. That is about the norm for most retail sites though. Especially if you factor in those short-term leases. I would suspect those would fill up with some type of store over the next two years.

Nice article. I think the whole experience was surprising for me and others given how other casino operators in the past in other states have been less forthcoming and less tied to community as MGM has demonstrated, which was a cause for concern for many. I think that MGM has exceeded expectations in this regard. And again, I reiterate the benefit of having an MGM resort rather than a Maryland Live! slots parlor :

Even though MGM’s revenues are driven more by entertainment, dining, and other recreational activities than through gambling, there is always the potential for gaming to be stigmatized.

This thread has gotten stale. So, let's have some fun! Let's try to figure out what retailers will settle in at the MGM retail portion of the resort. MGM might also spur some interesting brands within Tanger and in downtown National Harbor.

I'm not sure of the size of the retail portion, but here is my guess.:

Tiffany & Co. (Located in two MGM properties and is popular in the DC/Baltimore areas)
Cirque du Soleil Store (Cirque du Soleil is an annual staple at National Harbor. This just makes sense)
Louis Vuitton
Prada
Omega or Cartier
Bella Donna

There may be other mid-tier luxury retailers that excapes me. But I at least wanted to get the convo started.

For comparison, here is the store listing for the Bellagio (MGM repeatedly declared that MGM National Harbor would be of the same caliber resort).

I want to say that the space allocated was about 15K and for 9 to 10 shops. With the additional square footage added to the project (500K) my thought is that it will increase significantly. If not immediately definitely in the first 2 years after opening. The retail is going to mostly target female consumers. That said I could see Jimmy Choo, Fendi, D&G, Cartier, Tom Ford, Prada and few boutiques featuring a variety of upscale brands. They would definitely have a MGM store. Given the space, I would think that Cirque would not have its own shop but would be a part of the MGM Store. I would be interested in seeing the list of restaurants that they are courting or the events that they will have. With 3000 seats they could have multiple event occurring at the same time.
