And there you have it folks! The MGM project has now reached $1 Billion! And they have selected their general contractor: Whiting-Turner.

I'd love to see this thing in person when it is finished.

When is that going to be? assuming no major delays. A motivated casino will be on time, and under budget, IMO. Funny, we can't seem to get this kind of process from our county and State projects.

Silver Spring Metro for one....

Late summer 2016 (Probably July of that year). Yeah it is funny but that is the government for you. The Fort Washington Police Station is at least a year past its delivery (from when it broke ground). Let's not talk about the DHS headquarters in SE. I will be retired by the time that is done.

They lost a lot of funding for that project and so they projected that it may not open until about 2021. There is no excuse for the police station not being open though.

Residents frustrated with late-night fireworks near National Har - DC News FOX 5 DC WTTG

Somebody is lying. Clearly someone is shooting off the fireworks and it's more than likely coming from National Harbor. I used to hear them myself when I lived there, but never at midnight. I think if that is true then that is unacceptable.

Agreed. I have heard them as well but never at 12 and I am usually up since I am a night owl.Its usually around 9 when it gets dark. The only time I heard anything close to that late is during the last primary elections. I didn't hear anything over the past few days and I typically hear anything fireworks related coming from the harbor. Would be interesting to find out the source. That should take an act of congress to find out since you need a permit for commercial grade firework displays
