Oh, when you said NYC I thought you meant the actual climo sites but I do see you said "here"... So you meant your location? Because you said a mean of 75.0F which is none of the NYC sites.. Why are you warmer than them? Even Newark, NJ is 73.4°.

For an average mean of 75°F you have to go to Virginia

Also... I think it's rare to see 6 below normal, so those colors are rarely used and in order to show below normal greens, blues and purples are used. Yellows oranges and reds for above normal. I actually like that color table.

3-4 degrees below normal is purple. Reverse it... 3-4 above normal would be all reds. So the month so far is pretty impressive the same if it was reversed.

You are completely right. I'm not sure what Cambium is thinking but your numbers are correct. I guess we both need to beware of inaccurate weather forecasters! LOL!

Here's another link to use to see the data. Check off the F6 data on left and pick location.
National Weather Service Climate

Back to my question...I'm curious Why is Infamous92's average is warmer than NYC, JFK and entire area? Even LGA looks odd but notice it's still -2.3 below normal(not slightly).

Here's the mean temps so far this month. Looks like you have to go to southern Maryland & Virginia to get means of 75F+.

I meant LaGuardia, which is averaging 74.8F, and read as 75F on wunderground. But it should actually top 75F over the next few days.

When I see purple on a map I instantly think of teens and single digits, and it'd be weird to see red on a map in the winter, red typically means 80's & 90's to me. I know these are departures from average, not temperatures, but it just looked a little dramatic at first.

Current temps about 1 to 4 below normal across parts of Eastern PA, NJ and southern New England..

More importantly... NYC mid 70s, Danbury upper 50s.
