Did you read my post? 63% in the poll that I cited are in favor of a $15 minimum wage, 63% is very close to 2/3 of the population so I think you really should spend a minute and read that before you opine that "people want a reasonable increase...not a foolish $15/hr."

So many customers are on Wix or Foodstamps nowadays(Thanks Obama!).
Many use coupons and don't like it when you tell them the coupons don't apply or the items they purchased are not permitted per regulations. They also don't like it if they have to wait in line and
they take it out on the poor cashier. Don't ask me how I know, but it happens!
It's WIC, not WIX and everyone using it, both the recipients and the clerks know what is allowable. The vouchers are clearly marked with the package size and permissible items. Foodstamps (SNAP) is put on an EBT card which is like a debit card. The cash registers in stores are programmed to only allow purchases for allowable food items, other items are rejected and the buyer needs to pay for those with another source.

yep, here are the details of this "deal"

"In the end, UTC agreed to retain approximately 800 manufacturing jobs at the Indiana plant that had been slated to move to Mexico, as well as another 300 engineering and headquarters jobs. In return, the company will get roughly $700,000 a year for a period of years in Indiana state tax incentives. Some 1,300 jobs will still go to Mexico, which includes 600 Carrier employees, plus 700 workers from UTEC Controls in Huntington, Ind. Donald Trump Carrier Deal: How He Sealed It with CEO Hayes

the restaurants that use ordering tablet are basically fast food restaurants that you happen to sit down at. In a number of years I can imagine if you wanted human service you would have to go to a more expensive place.

Hopefully, they won't rely on a McSoftware McEngineer to code these things up

To reach the same standard today, adjusted for inflation, the minimum would have to be something like $14.85.
I'm so glad people think full time workers should starve and go homeless! (Sarcasm)
Were on strike today, so go **** yourself.
Make your own burger.
You can afford that today too.

Albuquerque, New Mexico (according to your profile, close to where you live)
Rent: $400 for shared room
Bus Ticket: $20
Groceries: $250
Take home pay: $1170

Left over is $500 per month, is that not enough for discretionary spending? New Mexico cannot afford a $15 minimum wage, because their median hourly wage is $15.54. You try to push the minimum wage to $15, and you will soon be unemployed.

Is that bus ticket for just one trip because that could be a lot of money. Some people need cars because using buses depends on buses on being time which does not always happen and that would mean gas, insurance, repairs. That does not include if you have to pay health insurance, student loans or some other unknown expense. You just listed one place you think you could live on min wage in that does not mean you can In other places.

No that is the cost of monthly bus ticket.

As a minimum wage worker, your health insurance is paid by the government. Even if you need to pay a little, you should make up for it with food stamps. You can't afford a car, that is just something you have to accept. If the bus is often late, then you take the earlier bus, or you carpool. At least it is easier to afford a car in america than in the rest of the world.

If you got student loans, you shouldn't be on minimum wage. Most cities in america will have similar costs, there are a few cities that is unaffordable for minimum wage workers, but as a minimum wage worker you can't live wherever you want. I used New Mexico, because that is the state he/she lived in.

The big question would be... will you get 40 hours of minimum wage? I've NEVER known a minimum wage job to be full time. So the take-home pay will be less than that. Also, taxes are going to deduct from that total.
