You really believe that it works like that? Please enlighten me what are these professionals who can always survive in America? Who has almost zero unemployment rate? And what about one is unresponsible and makes kids without fortunes? Should children be doomed to poverty for the rest of their life? In american social mobility is low. You are likely to stay poor if your parents are poor.

This is such selfish reasoning. Something could happen to you tomorrow that would make you unable to provide for your children. You could have a serious car accident that leaves you handicapped, you could lose your job and not find a new one for a long time, you could get a serious illness that would make it impossible for you to continue working, etc. Should we come and take your children away then? Should we judge you for being an unfit parent like you are judging others? Someone's ability to be a loving parent has nothing to do with how much money they make. This kind of mentality, of valuing money above all else, is all too common in the US and it's one of the main reasons I would never want to live there. Seems like you're born in the right place, though.

Ah, you're one of those naive people who still believes in the "American Dream". Not everyone is able to succeed in life, no matter how hard they work. Some people are born with mental or physical disabilities, some people come from an extremely disadvantaged background and some people simply do not have the intelligence to go to College. Tough luck, huh? No kids for them as far as you're concerned.

Responsible people have savings and insurance that will provide for them and their families. They don't have children they can't afford.

You don't need to go to college to get a decent paying stable job. When someone can afford to raise the children they make a choice to bring into the world, great. But no one should have a child expecting the rest of us to pay for it. If they want to be a parent, become a foster parent or adopt a hard to place child that comes with a stipend and Medicaid. Be part of the solution, not the problem.

For the record, you don't need to be a "professional" to have savings and stability, not to mention job skills that make you employable.

The only reason some children are doomed to poverty is because they have irresponsible parents.
You are wrong again:

This "American dream" propaganda isn't based on facts. As above chart states, you have better opportunities in countries like Canada or Finland, regardless your socioeconomic class. And what really sickens me is your opinion that children shoul be on their own if their parents are "unresponsible"

Maybe you should tell that to the millions of people who are unemployed right now

I can't imagine what it's like to live among people with such disdain for the poor and unfortunate. It's obvious you people never really struggled in life yourselves otherwise you wouldn't be so incredibly naive. "Anyone can succeed if you just work hard". "Poor people are just irresponsible". "If you're unemployed, just find a new job, anyone can do it". Whatever makes you feel better about yourself

What does that have anything to do with what I said about America?

Actually I didn't say that, either. I said that people needed to be responsible and not have children to begin with if they can't afford to care for them. Big difference.

Many of which are unemployed because they refuse to take jobs which they feel are beneath them. When you haven't worked in a year, it's time to take whatever comes along, the time for being choosy is long past.

I sleep fine at night, because I know that I raised my child (I stopped at one because it was all I could comfortably afford) without financial support from others. Frankly I'd have trouble sleeping if I was selfish enough to expect others to pay for my choices.

I find it amazing that you would condone long term unemployed sitting on their butt rather than working.
