Though many stereotype German as "perfect blonde Nordics", it's not true there are dark-haired people in Germany. Most people are still indoctrinated with old theories. Yes there are plenty of blonde people in northern Germany, but this decreases as you move away from that area. Not all Germans are blonde. O.K. Marina_ 1976!
I am American that is of 100% Irish ancestry...I am light blonde/blue eyes...I am paler/lighter then either of my parents who are/were brown haired with hazel and dark brown eyes...so skin color can vary even by family...so I don't know how you can really pick one country as being the fairest...
This is only done in terms of the ratio of the lightest skin types, whichever nation has the highest ratio of skin types I and II is the palest. Obviously there would be variations within each family and population on individual basis as you have pointed out in your own family, but this is not important as we look at the over-all frequency of light skin types. When it is quoted that Scandinavians are the blondest people as a group, it doesn't mean every single Scandinavian is blonde, but the ratio of blondes are higher than anywhere else. It is that easy to comprehend. The following criteria: skin type I(Pale white skin, always burn never tans), type II(white skin, burns easily and tans minimally), type III(white skin, burns minimally and tans easily), type IV(light brown/olive skin, burns minimally, tans easily). Indigenous Europeans mostly rank from I to IV, For example in Italy, according to studies done, the most common type is IV(44%), followed by type III. In Sweden it is type III(62.7%), followed by type II. Thus we could say that Swedish people as a whole are paler than Italians! However within the populations or on individual basis, there are Italians who are paler than Swedes or Swedes who could be darker than Italians. So yes on that basis, one can pick a country or group as being the fairest. [/quote]

Are you afraid of saying that you are pale? Even Native Americans referred to the colonists as "pale faces" or "the pale people". I never denied that skin tone could vary in a family. You just are too unscientific to understand anything I write.
Freckled people are also among the palest people on earth.
