The same reasons why we have men's and women's restrooms. People have different needs and likes.

I personally like seeing and all black cast..........and no, I am not black. It's different. Whites ALWAYS get the leading roles and shows with them and only them.

Being a Hispanic/white guy myself, I like seeing other people too. White isn't end all be all.

Apparently not. The show is a hit.

Hm, I don't know if segregated TV shows are analogous to separate restrooms for men and women.

I'm also pleased to see diversity in TV programming, and blacks and other minorities certainly deserve a boost. However, I don't get the concept of mono-racial "reality" shows based upon negative stereotypes.

Maybe the media wonts people to think Atlanta is ONLY for Black people? Im not sure just a guess as to why all the reality shows based in Atlanta are the Black versions of an established white reality show.

I just think having the name "Atlanta" in the title of a shows generally equals to higher rating especially if the show has AA actors. If those same shows were in DC, Bmore, Dallas, etc they would not have had the same ratings. Even BET moved the Soul Train Awards from Atlanta to Las Vegas last year and had 300,000 less viewers than when it was in Atlanta.

That could be part of it. They will definitely milk a concept for all its worth.

Maybe the media wants people to think only white people invest( they're usually the only people on business programs).

Maybe the media wants people to think NYC is for white people only(i.e-Seinfeld)

No one says anything when it's all white. As soon as blacks do something, it's up for debate.

I can't stand this show and cannot even watch a few minutes of it, but yes, many TV shows do stereotype places, the good and bad.
