Based on what I learned about CA high speed rail originally they expected the project to be entirely privately funded and within 35 billion dollars with one way tickets about $50 or similar to a one way on Southwest airlines for the same trip. This was back in the 1990s. I be curious how much has the project's projected pricing went up over the years compared to inflation.
Today the price tax of CAHSR appears higher than the entire China high speed rail system combined.

Not all European countries have sky high taxes. Even though countries there often taxes car use more than north America to subsidize both the road infrastructure and the entire transportation infrastructure including HSR.

Yet are also countries with overall taxes lower than US yet has HSR both on private car use as well as other taxation.

Also why is Texas getting one with only private funding I heard?

I be curious other states have more relaxed COVID19 restrictions yet their salons and other small businesses found safe ways to open without people dropping dead or sick all over. I say expect people especially business owners to move away from CA soon.

If you look at COVID cases and death rates CA is doing better than most of the country, and that actually even better than it sounds because CA has more international travel than most states and very high population density in the metro areas so if all measures were equal CA should have been one of the worst states to be hit yet in both cases and death per 1M population CA is better than US average. There really is no magic or mystery here, CA was one of the first to shut down and had the strictest measures so it is doing better from a pandemic standpoint. We see the same thing in the EU as well, the countries who embraced the strictest measures had fewer cases\deaths and got back to business quicker.

I stayed in the Central Valley Delta region because the sunshine weather is amazing, food produce selection and affordability is Outstanding, The Diverse Racial Culture is incomparable only NYC can compare to and it shows in our many different cuisine availability, Festivals and media. Our Education is internationally recognized. Our Business ethic is socially progressive, environmental and humanitarian and helps the lower class better than most conservative or liberal states. We aren't as polluted as Eastern states because our modern infrastructure dates to the 1800s while most of america dates back too the 1600s. My favorite reason to love California is that we have almost every biome available within an 8 hour reach from Eureka to San Ysidro. We're also calculated to be the only state in the union to be able to financially survive on our own. If California was its own country we could have the chance to Adopt the Baja Californias. Another mystical reason to love California is that we have Holy settlements from the San/Santa cities to Mt.Diablo named mountains. Another Theory i have about California is that its bowl shape amplifies the human psyche because of all the humidity locked inside. Water molecules transfer vibes. Our Connection to earth stronger here than anywhere else in the world aside from some region in china who has the same inverted delta bowl formation. Everything that happens in the bowl will happen to the rest of the world. We are guinea pigs that control the future. Also if we had the San Francisco Bay Sacramento San Joaquin Delta back to conditions before the 1600s, we would control the humidity that drives the polar vortex and jet streams from alaska. We control the Pacific weather no doubt. We also have the best psychedelic drugs. Our citizens are in higher and lower planes than everyone else. Stay Mad.When civilization falls, California will still live on its own. Theres a reason our slogan is Eureka we have found it, followed by seals of cornucopias. Our Redwood and Sequoia trees are a Monument to the regions enlightenment. Bring the DeltaTule fog back and we get our giant trees back. Also we're juggling for a new separate territory called the autonomous nation for native americans. It could be the reparations we own the native americans in all of america. Only hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, Samoa, Florida keys can compete in paradise. Only Texas can compete in armed weapons distribution. Only New York, Paris, Tokyo, Mumbia can compare in Media creation. We are heaven on earth and you need to accept it. Also our state has the most soldiers, marines, air forces, national guard, and navy seals. Hopefully we'll have the biggest space force too. Stay mad.

What's pathetic about these red state whiners is that they leach off the money that California sends to the federal government because they all live in hand out states that are too stupid to create viable economies of their own and have to rely on places like California to feed them, all the while they complain about the hand that feeds.

Im serious, God doesn't hide the truth, he puts everything obviously in our face and he placed the golden gates of heaven in San Francisco. AKA the 2nd most popular chosen spot chose for suicide after the Forest base of mount fuji in Japan. On The outside of the Golden Gate bridge is the Biggest ocean, the pacific and when we die we will return to the sea that reflects into the blue sky and starry galaxies. Its obviously shown in the Zodiac sign Capricorn, half goat, half fish thats prophetized as the devil, then in the Last Sign, Pisces, speculated sign of Jesus. California is Heavily Haunted and Spiritual. Also do me a Favor and Look up California Tule Fog and the Wikipedia picture shown is specific fog conditions that are similar to the 1600s that brought on winter storms creating the obviously named sierra nevadas meaning mountains of snow. The reason humidity is so important is because that water dilutes the light hitting us, cooling us down and it also reduces the mirage heat waves bouncing off the ground which is responsible for creating bubbles of high or low pressure that keeps the artic climate from reaching California. Grizzly bears were hairy because California is supposed to be a cold refrigerator and freezer. The smallest changes can create the biggest effects. Help spread reclamation of our inland sea marshlands. Marine plants account from 60 to above 90% Oxygen produced.

No not all red states are like this, just the poorest ones.

In my ideal world, I'd have the wealthier Red states like Texas, Florida and Georgia support the poorer ones like Mississippi, Oklahoma and Louisiana.

Let them support each other and get a taste of what it's like.

I'd let Blue state money stay with Blue states.

If we are doing so well, why are we still remain locked down why other states have mostly reopened with little issue. We are far from business as usual. And some states/cities are just as crowded in terms of population, never had such dracon restrictions yet they are doing much better in terms of returning to normal.
There are a number countries that never truely locked down but they do pretty well today. Of all type of culture variances as well as population density. Not only Sweden, but Iceland, Nicaragua, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, etc. So had the states that never shut down. Apparently the worst hit states happen to be ones with the toughest shutdown policies. And these places around the world that had shut down are reinstating dracon policies again and again this summer so its not by like business as usual at all.

Every single country you mentioned, save for Nicaragua, has a universal health care system in place. So, while the population is free to operate in, say, Sweden, the citizens of Sweden know that if they fall ill they will be taken care of, without question.

In the U.S., we have overpriced, for-profit insurance plans that can reject a claim on a whim.

Behaviorally, Americans are not a cooperative people. There is a lack of education amongst the general population, as well as a lack of respect for anyone who has an education. Worse, there are several strong elements within American society that think defiance is a virtue.

Another point to be made is that individual states cannot control the flow of people. We, in California, cannot control the number of Arizonans, Texans, Oregonians or Nevadans with active Covid-19 who enter our state. So, despite the apparent stringency of orders put in place by county and state officials, they are as good as the paper they're printed on when it comes to people driving into California from other places.
