i do not believe in the sabbath you believe in , like i said if you believe god hates his enemies , you do too , without a shadow of doubt , and you are guilty of breaking the whole law , which your faith is in because of this , including the sabbath(you are a sabbath breaker if you hate your enemy)
not

Actually my mistake, you are right. Here is one.
Colossians 2

The sabbbath, as the a day of rest, was an old testament symbol and shadow of the rest from works of the law which we have now in Christ, as Christ is the sabbath for all those who are believing on the lord.

Those who are believing on the lord are at rest from the works of the law, and we rest in Christ and in his work on the cross which is for the covering and remission of sins.

All those who teach that Christians must observe sabbath or any of the old testament law in order to have salvation and inherit the promises of God to the elect teach a false Gospel, and they themselves are still relying on their own works and the observance of the law to be saved and to earn the inheritance, instead of resting in Christ who is the true spiritual sabbath and relying on him for their inheritance.

The new testament is clear, and Paul is not in the slightest bit vague about this fact when he wrote ...

Col 2:16-20
Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions. He has lost connection with the Head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow. Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belonged to it, do you submit to its rules:

Again, as usual, what Verna teaches is in direct contradiction with the new testament. All those who teach what Verna teaches and seek to judge others according to their false doctrines show "false humility" and seek to "disqualify you" of "the prize", of being kings and priests and co-heirs in the reign of Christ. Their "unspiritual minds" are "puffed up with ideal notions", and they have "lost connection with the head" of the body which is Christ our lord in whom we take rest, and not in the shadows of the former commandment which is to be set aside because it is weak and useless(Hebrews 7:18).

Do no be deceived or brought under condemnation of the old law by those who seek to earn salvation and the prize of ruling with Christ by their own works, which amount to not but are in vain.

Rest in Christ, he is the true sabbath, not in a day of the week ...

The truth is Verna and those who believe and teach the things she believes and teaches, do not observe the sabbath as they claim, if they did they would not tie their shoes, or start their cars, or travel more than a mile on the sabbath. If they truly observed sabbath in accordance with the law, they would do all these things and much more according to the law of the old testament. They teach lies, and are deceived by the very lies they teach.

These very same false teachers are they that "deny the lord that bought them", believing in their hearts and teaching others with their words that we must buy our own inheritance and salvation by observation of the law, instead of by believing on the work of Christ on the cross alone.

Bingo!

The old covenant commandments are summarized with one new commandment: LOVE. Love God, love your neighbor, love your enemy. This includes the sabbath. If you love God, you are resting in Him - that is what the sabbath is talking about; resting in God instead of your own works...

ut -oh......darn it!...your mistake again hilgi...shoot!...you oughta really try reading the Bible once in a while...it would help you greatly in understanding the heart of God and His will for your life. You won't even read these I've provided, will you...nawww...even if you did...you still wouldn't believe them. But I will post these 47 (that are strictly from the New Testament), out of at least 160 times the Sabbath is spoken of in Scripture, for those who want to know the truth.

Mark 2:27 Then Jesus said to them, "The Sabbath was made to meet the needs of people, and not people to meet the requirements of the Sabbath.

Matthew 12:1 At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. His disciples were hungry and began to pick some heads of grain and eat them.

Matthew 12:2 When the Pharisees saw this, they said to him, "Look! Your disciples are doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath."

Matthew 12:5 And haven't you read in the law of Moses that the priests on duty in the Temple may work on the Sabbath?

Matthew 12:8 For the Son of Man is Lord, even over the Sabbath!"

************

Matthew 12:10 and a man with a shriveled hand was there. Looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, they asked him, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath

Matthew 12:11 He said to them, "If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out?

Matthew 12:12 How much more valuable is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath."

Jesus was saying, "You would not do less for one another than for a sheep in a hole, surely." The manner in which the Lord put His conclusive answer to the Pharisees gives an unexpected turn to the reply... He does not say, 'It is lawful to heal,' but, 'It is lawful to do well,' thus at once showing the true justification of healing, namely, that it was a beneficent act.

*************

Matthew 24:20 And pray that your flight will not be in winter or on the Sabbath.

Matthew 27:62 day of preparation, and the Jewish leaders didn't want the bodies hanging there the next day, which was the Sabbath (and a very special Sabbath, because it was the Passover). So they asked Pilate to hasten their deaths by ordering that their legs be broken. Then their bodies could be taken down.

Matthew 28:1 After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.

Mark 1:21 Jesus and his companions went to the town of Capernaum. When the Sabbath day came, he went into the synagogue and began to teach.

Mark 2:23 One Sabbath Jesus was going through the grainfields, and as his disciples walked along, they began to pick some heads of grain.

Mark 2:24 The Pharisees said to him, "Look, why are they doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?"

Mark 2:27 Then he said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.

Mark 2:28 So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath."

Mark 3:2 Some of them were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath.

Mark 3:4 Then he turned to his critics and asked, "Does the law permit good deeds on the Sabbath, or is it a day for doing evil? Is this a day to save life or to destroy it?" But they wouldn't answer him.

Mark 6:2 The next Sabbath he [JESUS!] began teaching in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed. They asked, "Where did he get all this wisdom and the power to perform such miracles?"

Mark 15:42 It was Preparation Day (that is, the day before the Sabbath). So as evening approached,

Mark 16:1 Saturday evening, when the Sabbath ended, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome went out and purchased burial spices so they could anoint Jesus' body.

************I'm lovin' this so much...************

Luke 6:1 One Sabbath day as Jesus was walking through some grainfields, his disciples broke off heads of grain, rubbed off the husks in their hands, and ate the grain.

Luke 6:2 Some of the Pharisees asked, "Why are you doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?"

Luke 6:5 And Jesus added, "The Son of Man is Lord, even over the Sabbath."

Luke 6:6 On another Sabbath he went into the synagogue and was teaching, and a man was there whose right hand was shriveled.

Luke 13:10 One Sabbath day as Jesus was teaching in a synagogue,

Luke13:14 But the leader in charge of the synagogue was indignant that Jesus had healed her on the Sabbath day. "There are six days of the week for working," he said to the crowd. "Come on those days to be healed, not on the Sabbath."

Luke 13:15 But the Lord replied, "You hypocrites! Each of you works on the Sabbath day! Don't you untie your ox or your donkey from its stall on the Sabbath and lead it out for water?

Luke 14:1 One Sabbath day Jesus went to eat dinner in the home of a leader of the Pharisees, and the people were watching him closely.

Luke 14:3 Jesus asked the Pharisees and experts in the law, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not?"

Luke 14:5 Then he asked them, "If one of you has a son or an ox that falls into a well on the Sabbath day, will you not immediately pull him out?"

Luke 23:54 This was done late on Friday afternoon, the day of preparation, as the Sabbath was about to begin

Luke 23:56 Then they went home and prepared spices and perfumes. But they rested on the Sabbath in obedience to the commandment.

John 5:9 At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. The day on which this took place was a Sabbath,

John 5:10 and so the Jews said to the man who had been healed, "It is the Sabbath; the law forbids you to carry your mat."

John 5:16 So, because Jesus was doing these things [healing] on the Sabbath, the Jews persecuted him.

************

John 5:18 For this reason the Jews tried all the harder to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

...HOW DARE JESUS HEAL SOMEONE ON THE "PHARISEES TYPE" OF SABBATH!!!>>>and THEN! GO SO FAR AS TO PROCLAIM GOD WAS HIS OWN FATHER!!! OH!!!...THE NERVE OF HIM!!!

************

John 7:23 Now if a child can be circumcised on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses may not be broken, why are you angry with me for healing the whole man on the Sabbath?

John 9:16 Some of the Pharisees said, "This man is not from God, for he does not keep the Sabbath." But others asked, "How can a sinner do such miraculous signs?" So they were divided.

John 7:23 For if the correct time for circumcising your son falls on the Sabbath, you go ahead and do it so as not to break the law of Moses. So why should you be angry with me for healing a man on the Sabbath?

John 19:14 because it was on the Sabbath that Jesus had made the mud and healed him.

John19:31 It was the day of preparation, and the Jewish leaders didn't want the bodies hanging there the next day, which was the Sabbath (and a very special Sabbath, because it was the Passover). So they asked Pilate to hasten their deaths by ordering that their legs be broken. Then their bodies could be taken down.

Acts 13:14 From Perga they went on to Pisidian Antioch. On the Sabbath they entered the synagogue and sat down.

Acts 15:21 For these laws of Moses have been preached in Jewish synagogues in every city on every Sabbath for many generations."

Acts 16:13 On the Sabbath we went a little way outside the city to a riverbank, where we thought people would be meeting for prayer, and we sat down to speak with some women who had gathered there.

Acts 18:4 Each Sabbath found Paul at the synagogue, trying to convince the Jews and Greeks alike.

PAUL KEPT THE SABBATH TOO!!!

*************

Thanks again hilgi! and God Bless!

In Christ's love...and prayerfully in His truth,
Verna

Psalm 37:7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him:

37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.

What is the inheritance???

29 The righteous shall inherit the earth, and dwell for evermore.

Matthew 5:5 The meek shall inherit the earth.

Without the prejudice of religion, race, or gender. imho

Peace!

Verna's it's not hard to understand why you would find Paul in synagogue on a Jewish Sabbath , that's where the people he wanted to reach were congregated . I guess them Pharisees were more open then todays Fundy's for allowing Paul to get up and preach , though i don't think he went down to well.
