So it is discriminatory and should be illegal to believe that same-sex marriage is not natural or normal? If they are given the exact same legal rights and benefits as married couples, then where is the discrimination exactly?
Here:
Quote:
Civil Union vs. Marriage
Couples who are legally married enjoy many more benefits than those who are engaged in a civil union. When comparing a civil union vs. marriage, marriages have the following advantages:
Tax benefits on both the state and federal level. Tax benefits aren’t available to civil union couples.
Only marriages are recognized in all states. Civil unions won’t be recognized in states, which haven’t adopted them.
Married couples are granted immigration benefits when petitioning for a spouse who isn’t a citizen.
Life insurance, social security, and medical benefits are only available to married couples.
Yet the hypocrisy is that you are forcing your ideology or beliefs on us. Of course I'm not being forced to have a SSM. That's completely irrelevant. What is being forced is social shaming on the low end and outright real-life consequences for people who CHOOSE to believe in God's word.
And people in certain professions now HAVE to accept it as natural or normal like a Christian marriage counselor. They would now have to give help and advice for a couple living in sin and how to make that sinful life successful. So yes, Christians are being FORCED to accept this.
No one cares what you believe.
What people care about is how your actions affect those being discriminated against. Nobody cares if you think blacks should be drinking at a separate fountain, but you have no right to force that.
Get the difference? Believe all you want, don't act on it if it affects someone else's right.

Likewise, I don't care if you think I should accept SSM as a natural union. No one should have the right to impose their ideology on others. All you are doing is using discrimination as a shield. Racism is not an ideology. You never hear someone arguing in support of racism because there is no valid argument. You can't say the same about gay marriage. So please stop comparing the two.

People, American citizens, argue in favor of racism every day. They are often members of the KKK, the various citizen militia organizations, American Nazi organizations, skinheads, and the Sovereign Citizen movements. Yes, racism is alive and well in America today.
Then why even have marriage? Civil union should have been just fine. Gay marriage in US was never about having equal rights. It was about forcing the culture to accept such unions as natural and normal.
The Bible will always be above man's law.
In some states legislation was passed outlawing civil unions as well. So you are saying that is now acceptable whereas before it was not?
This smacks me of black people should sit at the back of the bus, after all they still have a seat, why do they need one up front with me? It goes against what I believe.

Nobody is saying you should accept anything. Don't. Nobody cares.

All very fringe groups in society with an ideology steeped in ignorance. The VAST majority of Americans would never argue for racism. There simply isn't even a logical argument to support it. OTOH, gay marriage represents a moral conflict for a significant portion of the population. A person can't choose their race. A person chooses to engage in gay marriage. Completely different.
