Rather, you needed to include that, it makes you sound older. Yet, less mature.

I was going for less mature.

Maturity is not all it's cracked up to be.

Of course, I may not be mature and yet be perfect.

Mat 18:3, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

There is that childish rote repetition. Alternatives would include meaningful learning, associative learning, and active learning. Instead of memorization. You know, where you actually learn something, other than the alphabet and your numbers. Perhaps one day you will go for a deeper understanding, allowing for complex connections between previous and new knowledge. But I won't hold my breath.

I despair of that happening with some of these diehard fundamentalists, Jer. There seems to be no real thought processes there, just rote memorization of verses.

Does that scripture quoting remind you of what Christ quoted to Satan while being tempted?

It's basically the same thing we are doing here, using the truth to counter the lies.

The fatal flaw in that approach is that you fail to TEST whether or not what you quote IS the truth. You just blindly accept that it is and ignore the main source of TRUTH we have about God - Jesus Christ the Word of God Himself!!!
