No wind, no snow and much less rain than expected. Are we using the wrong models/ensembles?

Agree. Not impressed either.

The front is moving fast. Skies are clearing in Pittsburgh . This should be over by 2 Am. So far wind gusts only 15 - 30 mph across most of the area. Only some modest rain here on the shoreline east of New Haven. Hopefully once front moves through winds not too bad after.

I think the weather forecasters like hype and fear. It would be harmless if it weren't the "boy who cried 'wolf'" problem.

Feels like a storm outside. Winds gusting over 20mph, heavy rain.

Can you imagine this was snow for us? Feets

Terrific. This thing, apparently, finally sped up. The forecasting I can't fault. It was discussed over a week ago, held together thousands of miles.

I have to head to work so here's the current radar. 2-4" of snow after changeover in PA and Albany area. Poughkeepsie still reporting rain as well as across CT. I'm hearing reports of 3"+ in Stratford/Milford area!

Looks like it's ending later than projected. I see yellows in NJ still (light-moderate rains) heading towards CT

Yes...terrific. Was not looking forward to any flooding.

Overall, it looks like the storm was not too bad at all. I only had a gust to 28 mph and maybe 2 inches of rain. Not too many branches down. Looks like very small number with power outages (2,300 according to WTNH). Highest wind gust at Bradley was 32 mph and at Bridgeport 30 mph. There were some 4 to 5 inch rainfall reports from Hartford and Windham counties according to NWS :

A strong cold front pushed east of the Tri-State area this morning. Rainfall is slowly ending. Skies are expected to start clearing from SW to NE form late morning through the afternoon as high pressure starts to build in. In the short term with semi-zonal flow, we should see seasonal temps (mid 40’sF), blue skies, and dry weather into the extended it looks like.

The large scale patten doesn't seem to have any significant cold in North America (meanwhile parts of Europe/Asia are well below average).

Cam, any idea of when that might change?
