One thing I don't understand is why is France not attacking Syria?
After 9/11, US attacked Afghanistan, not Taliban held areas.
It's time to attack the countries that harbor these extremists.
After 9/11 the US invoked Article 5.
Article 5 has been invoked only once and it was by the US. And that didn't happen until October following the 9/11 attack.
You can't just willy nilly "go to war".
Ok..where is the water coming from with no electric ?
How do you get it to the cities ?
OMG, all I said was ONE WEEK is not enough time for HALF the U.S. population to die from not having electricity. I didn't say it wouldn't happen but it's not going to be half the population in just one week. Most people have enough bottled water for at least a few days. All I disputed was the number in that length of time.

The US did not attack Afghanistan within 3 days. The United States started a dialogue with the Taliban and asked for them to hand over Osama Bin Laden and possibly some others, but whatever we did we were not bombing within 3 days.

French President François Hollande called Monday for a meeting of the United Nations Security Council to discuss a joint response to terrorism, and asked the French Parliament to enact sweeping constitutional changes to better allow authorities to deal with modern terrorist threats.
Three days after assailants carried out the worst-ever attack in Paris, the French leader said he would soon meet with U.S. President Barack Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Hollande also said France would scale up a military campaign against the ISIL terrorist group in order to “not to contain it but to destroy it,” mobilizing the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier to support the escalating mission.
No, France bombed certain areas that are controlled by extremists.
My suggestion was if a country can't control extremists, it's time to take over that country and control those rats ourselves.

Syria is the mess it is because of war and instability, we make things worse not better.

Maybe if we had helped Assad push them back those extremists wouldn't have made so many inroads.
Instead we funded the "rebels" and waited for Assad to fall.
