They need similar layoffs at facebook while they're at it...especially the bots who jail people for long periods of time for petty comments. I don't know of any other platform that's as strict.
Yep - they need to get a real job instead of one controlling what other people think. I am leaning toward a laborer having to dig holes in the ground.
Exactly, NO one is entitled in the Bay Area...NOT. A dose of real life for them?
Is that why there seems to be so much resentment toward them, you think they make more money than you??
I highly doubt 3700 employees laid off were all high wage earners living in expensive areas. More were probably just enduring 1+ hour commutes from more affordable areas. They aren't any different than anyone else.
They are taking out their anger over the political things like Trump being suspended from Twitter on these employees. The fired employees are their punching bag and way of feeling like they are getting revenge against the old Twitter for what was done to their heroes.
You might have something there. But I do notice a trend where posters (some) seem almost gleeful when others no different from them experience hard times. This need to separate them with labels like "entitled" or "snowflakes". Like 3700 people all share the same mind, values, work ethic, etc.
Whenever there is a story about a corporate Goliath beating down David (the common man) many posters consistently support Goliath and come up with reasons David deserved it. I never understood it (not necessarily this thread, but a pattern I have noticed over the years).
Yesterday he said he doesn't want to be CEO of Twitter, or even of Tesla, and at least as far as Twitter goes, will appoint someone else as CEO. He wants to do engineering, development, not business stuff. I think that's a good idea, he's not good at the business end in terms of communication, interpersonal skills, etc, IMO.

With Twitter losing $4 Million $$ a day, desperate times require swift action.
Musk partly financed the purchase of Twitter through $13 billion in debt. That debt is now on Twitter’s balance sheet. I assume interest on that debt and recent loss of advertising revenues are major reasons why Twitter is losing $4 million a day. In other words, much of the losses are due to Musk’s own decisions.
Exceptional visionaries hire great people to work out the details and make it happen.
People like Warren Buffet do not run their companies, Not even Bill Gates or Jeff Bezos.
The problem is that even before Twitter there were reports of poor working conditions at Tesla and his actions here are going to make it harder for him to find great people to work for him.

Right, there's nothing that Musk is doing right now at Twitter that shows a vision that will motivate employees and is something to be proud of and excited about working on.
