I am a newbie, but I believe they are whoopsy points, for times when you need to go over your daily. Like, when you really need a few cocktails or a loaf of garlic bread LOL.

They are extra food points in case you want to go over you regular daily points. say you go out for a steak dinner, vacation or to a wedding, you know you will most likely go over you daily points so the 49 extra are there for you to use. You can also convert your activity points into food points.

I agree. I'm hanging in there. It's tough to watch everything so carefully and lose 1/2 a pound a week. But it beats the heck out of gaining weight!

I supposedly get 49 extra points a week, but I don't lose any weight if I dig into those more than about 15 points. Even then, if I don't exercise I won't lose weight - but I won't gain either.

I just don't have much margin for "error" I guess.

After standing still for 3 weeks on 6 Kilogramms weight loss i am now down 7 Kilogramms. Seems like a body needs a short break sometimes. My girlfriend ( not doing weightwatchers, she is doing a vegan diet instead) had a pause after she lost a few kilogramms also. I am still on my way, want to loose 1 Kilogramm per month only and loose 1,2 or 1,3 in average. Dont miss any food, eat everything i want ( but smaller portions) drink less alcohol, eat more veggies and almost NO fastfood since 1-1.

Having a Ceviche tomorrow :-)

And i NEVER use my weekly extra points for food. Only for a glass or two of Chardonnay :-)

Well this morning was my first weigh in (did this at home). Starting weight was 259.8lbs and this morning weighed in at 252lbs!

Even after a week, I really REALLY like this plan. I never feel too hungry on Weight Watchers, I stay below my daily points every day (except last night where I used about 10 extra points because I had a few drinks). I've been trying to get to the gym and do an hour of intense cardio at least four times every week, then come home and drink a Myoplex shake before going to work.

Anyways, onward and downward to week 02!

Congrats on your first week! There will be ups and downs over time, but that first week of visible proof is awesome!

I lost .4 this week. I've been losing an average of 1.6 a week for the last couple of months, which I am overjoyed at. Down 126.4 lbs since January 2012.

Wow, that's really wonderful and inspirational, what a loss and what a change of lifestyle, there were several big losers in my previous class. I have to get back on track, it's really a very sensible way of eating and as we get older, losing certainly doesnt get easier...

I just flipped my first week, and it went well. I did use some weekly points since I'm visiting my sister and we went out for lunch and dinner on Friday. The wine has been flowing pretty freely too. I think I lost 5 lbs, but I used a different scale. One thing I love is Kashi cereal. It's very high in protein, so a cup of it with milk and some kind of 0 pt fruit thrown on top sticks with me all morning.
