Not many would ask others "what have you sacrificed?" They joined, so others don't have to. That is the utimate goal. The goal is not for everybody has to sacrifice a leg or an arm or a son or a daughter or something. Thinking that way is absurd.

It is spelled Khan. Any other spelling is incorrect.

Well, you did so. And so did the OP. And several others.

And I wouldn't have said anything, except that one of those misspelling the name then had the temerity to challenge the intelligence of other posters on this thread. Glass houses. See how that works?

For more than 30 years, John McCain and the Washington Establishment have controlled our nation’s fate. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
Time to retire McCain, unless you D's want him?

More like scared liberal because now you don't know what to do. You can't go after the republican establishment you've been so cozy with all these years. Now you have to deal with something completely different, something that cares less about what you do or what you think.

Trump didn't marginalize the republicans only, he marginalized liberals too.

If liberals weren't scared, they wouldn't bother talking about it.

Not sure how you sacrifice a person...
You do it by permitting the child you nurtured and loved for decades to go into harms way.

Trump likely spent his whole life making sure he was surrounded by goons and body guards whenever setting foot in dangerous cities like NYC.

I am sure we won't have to wait too long for Trump to attack the VFW and John McCain in his tweets. Manafort is the person who should be advising Trump that going back and forth with Gold Star families (and now the VFW and McCain) is unwinnable. I would not be surprised if his family is trying, but failing to muzzle him.

The Clinton campaign did not respond to Pat Smith, mother of a Benghazi victim who blamed Clinton at the GOP convention, because they know you just can't win attacking a Gold Star parent. That is the difference between a smart, experienced campaign and a campaign that shoots from the hip only to shoot itself in the foot.

Trump is a political novice and he is starting to dig his own political grave IMO.

Permitting? It's still 100% the decision and sacrifice of the adult child that chooses to serve. Last I checked, parents aren't allowed to enlist/sacrifice minors nor force their adult children to serve.

All the Trumps are aligned with Papa Doneski and Comrade Vlad in their hatred of the U.S. military.

Maybe in your household.

However, many parents can command the actions of their children and over rule decisions to join the ROTC.

The ROTC is a path that leads directly into the military.

The Khan family could have said no.
