People who suffer a tremendous loss, but do it for a greater good, have made a sacrifice. The loss of a son in the defense of a nation is a sacrifice. We all know this, but you can spin it for your partisan purposes until you get dizzy and fall down.
Once again, you cannot change the definition of words.
I present to you the definition of "sacrifice"
"the act of giving up something that you want to keep especially in order to get or do something else or to help someone"
The parents didn't give up the soldiers life - the soldier gave up his life. To even argue that is just distasteful.
Apparently, you missed the fact that Hillary directly CAUSED the death of Mrs. Smith's son. Trump, on the other hand, had ZERO to do with Old Man Khan's son's death.
/now you know.
Sean Smith's wife doesn't agree with Mrs Smith's grief-driven blame. And that you would belittle Mr Khan by referring to him as "Old Man Khan" says you have very little empathy. Which suggests that bringing up Mrs Smith is not about your sympathy for her, but about political partisanship.
Trump represents Trump. He doesn't care about the Republican party and has said so.
The old party is dead? Great. Time to dig that hole and cover it up.
The democrats are scared to death that the republican party of old is dead. They had a convenient devil and they were of the same ilk, both did nothing for the country.
The democrats would love and pray that the republican party regains its power. That is why the media gives any establishment republican air time and quote them over and over again and give them a parade.
Too bad. The democrats now have to deal with Trump. More important, they have to deal with what Trump started. You see, it isn't Trump the democrats need to worry about, it is what Trump started that will end their cycle of fear, division and unrestricted gambling and experimentation with the country.
Even if Trump were to lose the general election, what he started just goes on. The republican establishment can't ever go back to what it was. Sorry democrats, your nice and cozy backroom dealings are over.
Trump and Pence will divide the country far more. Pence is on record wanting to make women's reproductive choice rights illegal and is openly hostile to gay marriage and rights. Trump has already damaged our NATO relationships before the election! Now this with his senseless attack on Khan and the blowback from McCain and the VFW. Not to mention his earlier controversies with Judge Curiel for being Mexican, and also his disgusting mockery of disabled people. He has a habit of threatening not to pay hotels and conference centers when he gives campaign speeches. Par for the course as many contractors already know.
Too bad old John McCain could not summon up a little extra courage and rescind his earlier endorsement of Trump/Pence. If Trump keeps up this "back and forth" with a Gold Star family, maybe he will. We can only hope. Hillary is up by 7 percent and that is likely to increase unless Donald Trump can do some damage control. How about releasing the tax returns this week? That is his best chance to stop the bleeding IMO.

Yep, that loser who got caught. How dare he comment on Donald (I have bone spurs, people! In my right foot! Um, no, I mean in my left foot! Well, I'm pretty sure it's one of the two! ) Trump in regards to sacrificing for his country. I mean, what the hell did John McCain ever do for his country, right?
They supported their son's choice. In doing so, they gave up their dreams for their son. And they did so to help protect this nation.
how do you know if they supported his son to join the American military to fight in the Middle East?
where you in their house the moment his son told his parents that he was enlisting and they were happy and proud?
