Bernie supporters were very enthusiastic, but he still lost by around 4 million votes.

Looking at ABC poll this morning barely 1/3 of voters think Trump is qualified to be President. It is hard to see where enough of the rest are going to vote for him in spite of thinking he can't do the job. The ABC poll, in general, presents a very bleak and almost hopeless landscape for Trump with his only "strength" being enthusiasm of his relatively few supporters (white men). Expectations, which may be the best predictor of all, have only 29% thinking Trump will win. There is a chance that Clinton voters will take a victory for granted.

This has been covered before. Despite DNC corruption, Bernie rode the wave of enthusiasm from ~2% support to ~43% support. Therefore, it's crazy to assume enthusiasm is a non-factor in voter turnout.

You're trying to reassure yourself by telling me that.

RCP has NC/FL/OH basically tied.

PA is not a requirement although several recent polls have shown it becoming more competitive.

Why is it that every time a serious discussion starts to break out among the grown ups, the annoying kid who lives next door to the Cleaver family has to come barging in the kitchen door and try to spoil it with adolescent catcalls?

Look. You had a fun couple of days when your cult leader had a brief bump in the polls, and we're all happy for you. You got to strut around, crowing and beating your chest, and... well... good for you. Now that appears to be over, and the numbers are back to normal. So in a day or two, you'll be back to "polls don't matter," and we'll all go back to rolling our eyes every time you post.

But in the meantime, do you have to be so childish? People are making good points in this thread. The comparison to Romney voters' enthusiasm level is a valid one, and the observation that the electoral map is an overwhelming obstacle for Trump is accurate. I think both of them deserve better than "neener neener neener I don't wanna hear it."

Face it. Your guy is in serious trouble. He needs to make up a lot of ground, and he isn't closing the gap at all. The gap remains constant at about 3.2 to 4%. The clock is ticking. He has fewer than 60 days left to close the gap, and every day that he doesn't gain any ground makes it even harder. You need to face reality; the numbers look worse for him every day, even when they don't move at all.
