This election is like a game of ping pong. Neither side should ever be cocky. Both candidates are pretty horrible. I always said it is going to come down to the week before/of the election. Whomever has a better week.
I think you're absolutely correct. All this poll counting is worthless except it makes some people feel better about themselves. These polls change day to day, hour to hour with wide swings in both directions. The last week will tell the true story.

I agree. I remember when Obama won in 2012 they were already coronating Hillary for 2016. A few times on this forum when Hillary was up again, there were threads coronating Hillary, others saying it was over for Trump. When Trump was up, although his supporters were encouraged I didn't see any crowning posts.
Personally I think Hillary's too smug as if she knows a fix is in, just like Obama didn't think he had to show up for the first debate.

Lol there were a bunch of those posts and threads...

There is a big picture though. I saw this somewhere in my browsing today. There have been 100 national polls since May. Trump has lead in 9, they were tied in 4 and Clinton led in 87. That's pretty consistent and indicative of how it is going to end up

I think the bottom line as others have said over and over is going to be turnout on election day. Who will motivate their people to vote for them more? The polls, especially in swing states have been so close it could go either way.

Sounds like what they said about Mitt Romney. We see how that turned out.
All Gore won the popular vote, Bush became president.
The election is actually 50 state elections. The one who wins the most electors from those elections will be President.
"One area where Clinton particularly received a boost Monday night is with voters under 30. They overwhelmingly see Clinton as the winner and they’re starting to vote for her in larger numbers than they had before."
"Clinton has at least a 19 point lead with young voters in the full field in each state, leads of 24-28 points in a head to head match up with Trump, and is seen as the debate winner by 29-42 points with young voters in this set of states. "

WAT
Romney was down in most of the polls and ended up losing.
