With college professor parents Mayor Pete was certainly advantaged as compared to the average person, but given his family couldn’t afford to pay for his education in full, he was not so far removed from ordinary folks so as to be incapable of understanding them.

Trump is 66 days older than Clinton.

Lol at saying he's moderate
When a bunch of meely-mouthed, corporatist, war-mongering moderates (I.E. Sneaky Pete) go around co-opting the "Progressive" label, the word loses its true meaning.

Well, why don’t you watch Mayor Pete Buttigieg on the debate on June 27. Maybe then you can form an intelligent opinion, instead of the usual Right Wing banter.

I am not a Democrat but I am quite impressed by Pete and that's saying something. His oratory skills are top notch and he has a good approach. I really hope he wins the nomination, the other Dem candidates are plain awful.

I’m all for it.

“Pete Buttigieg, who is running for the Democratic presidential nomination in part on his experience with national service as a Navy Reserve officer who deployed to Afghanistan, on Wednesday proposed a major expansion of voluntary public service programs that aims to attract 250,000 Americans in the near term and potentially grow to one million a year by 2026.
His plan calls for expanding existing national service organizations like AmeriCorps and the Peace Corps and also adding new ones focused on combating climate change, treating mental health and addiction, and providing caregiving for older people. The new programs would prioritize bringing volunteers into predominantly minority communities and rural areas.“

I think Mayor Pete could do well against Trump in a debate. Pete is low key, but knows well how to make a point without being snarky. He answered Trump’s calling him “Alfred E. Newman” with a quick witted reply that obliquely referred to Trump being old and out of a different era. But Pete always stays classy, something that is an asset in the White House.

Exactly. As a small-town mayor with no national or international experience, or even state level experience, butty is even more unqualified than Obama was. If he wasn't a homosexual, a small town mayor wouldn't get any serious consideration. Dems could at least pick Booker-he checks a few more identity politics boxes than the mayor. Granted he's a bigot and dumber than a box of rocks-but that doesn't seem to matter considering the quality of the Democratic field.
