Are you trying to say all the states did not abide by the Roe decision for all those years? You know they did.
We are not discussing whether or not you think abortion is right or wrong. We are discussing what was considered the law of the land for almost 50 years. Roe was accepted by every state until the day it was overturned by the Supremes.
You're not supposed to introduce logic into discussions. It makes some peoples' heads explode.
The voters who elected the legislature included many pro choice people who did not elect them to do anything about abortion knowing they were constrained from doing anything by Roe.
Exactly. Abortion was not on the radar during the last elections for state reps.
Abortion is not just a "medical procedure". It is also the killing of an innocent unborn child. Did the child consent to being killed?
Abortion pushers always "forget" to take this factor into account when claiming they support choice.
Sorry Charlie. A woman has a right to determine what she allows to grow inside her own body, especially during the first trimester before it has any chance of surviving outside the womb. Have you ever had anything growing inside you? Do you know what that is like?
Dream on, Dreamweaver. After what happened in Kansas, the Republican Indiana legislature sure as heck doesn't dare want Indiana citizens to vote on a thing related to abortion.

Lmao
You know NOTHING about the Indiana legislature. There have been laws passed for years that tried to limit abortions.
Indiana citizens know exactly where their reps stand - and if the majority didn’t like it, they would be out of office.
btw did you know the RvW made abortions not allowed after the second trimester...hmmm
Yes of course it's up to the state and the voters but if the republican controlled legislature really wanted to determine how the electorate felt they would have put it on the ballot as was the case in Kansas.
Allowing abortion in cases of rape or incest should at least be part of any rational law, it is in Indiana but in many states it is not.
Roes allowed abortions in the first trimester after that is regulated by the states.
Did you know that 65% of abortions occur in the first 8 weeks, 80% within 10 weeks, 90% within 12 weeks.
Less than 1.3% occur after 21 weeks, so?

The elected officials voted on this. Would you prefer a dictatorship?
That's what this society has been working towards for the last 150 years, which in many ways, they have it. So, yes imo they do prefer a dictatorship. I know Congress does; that way they don't have to do anything, as they have increased executive office powers, beginning the day after the signing of the u.s. Constitution. Individual freedoms is a great philosophy without much traction as we look to Federal Law for guidance. (enacting unconstitutional law, was always the new tomorrow)
ps: in other news: Georgia Abortion Law Says a Fetus Is Tax Deductible; there will be those that will complain about that too, State rights and individual freedoms be damned.

The prior laws passed were restrictions to 22 weeks, ultrasound requirements. Going from 22 weeks to zero is quite a leap and I doubt that their constituents expected that massive leap.
This supreme court ruling has created chaos and a legal mess in every state.

Again. For the umpteenth time. We all know how pregnancy happens. Women have the right to partake or not partake in that act. Like anything else, don't engage in activities if you are not willing to accept the logical outcome of said activity.

Yes they did expect that leap.
And if they didn't, ignorance isn't an excuse.
Why do you want to impose your views on the citizens of Indiana? Do you live in Indiana?

Tell me where or when total abstinence ever worked... especially among married people.
