Yes, I do think they are the legitimate authority, and so does every other nation on this planet think as well, except for Russia, Iran, Syria, North Korea, Zimbabwe, Kazakhstan and a couple of other outcasts.

Well, it's certainly not Ukrainian military. The first pictures shows a Russian soldier in Crimea, the other half shows the same guy in Slaviansk.
The second pictures shows the guys who stormed the police station. Same equipment as in Crimea.
