In this context, liberalism is the opposite of authoritarianism. This is classic liberalism, mostly the way Europe understands the word. It has NOTHING to do with liberalism in the American sense of the word (leftist values). So you're chasing the wrong meaning of a word to be in opposition to her point, which is a good one.

Oh boy, things are much worse than I expected.
So, little lecture here for those uneducated in very basics.
Country GDP consists of 3 sectors: agriculture, industry(production), services.

Agriculture is what you eat;
Production/industry is what civilization is - raw materials, machines, energy, clothes - well, everything material that is not food.
Services is various junk that everybody can live perfectly without (with exception of medical services) - barbers, cleaners, lawyers, banksters, etc.

Production/industry is country basis.

Now you can get back to charts and look at them again

If you are talking about "European context," then it's not the "opposite" to some "authoritarianism," but very specifically to MONARCHISM. You are muddying the waters again, in the same manner as American NEO - LIBERALS of Clinton's kind brought all these lies to Russia, and sold the "right-wing" ideas as the "left" ones.

And so as the direct result of these lies, "liberalism" ( which has the left-wing meaning in the US,) in Russia has a meaning of the cut-throat capitalism under pretense of being the land of milk and honey.
And that's why this word is used now as expletive in Russian, as something deceitful and slimy.

Meanwhile in Russia the US embassy hanged the LGBT banner in their window for everyone to see.

Why did they want to celebrate the "gay month pride" specifically on 27th of June - god knows, but British embassy ( and whoever else) decided to join them, knowing that propaganda of "non-traditional sexual orientation" is prohibited in Russia.
There were some people protesting both pro ("Our country-our values") and contra, until the police stepped in.

And there was a VERY heated discussion on 60 minutes too.

Particularly in the light of the new proposal to proscribe in the Russian Constitution that marriage can be recognized as the union of a man and a woman ONLY.

The graph shows Russia's economy grew 1.35% in the past 3 years and the USA grew 5.8% after the latest downturn. What an amazing accomplishment to grow at 20% the rate of the USA before the 2nd quarter, which ends tomorrow btw and the preliminary numbers say you hit -9.5%.

This must be the fine Russian education system at work where 1.35 is more than 5.8. I'm sure your Kremlin TV tells you this is correct.
