That looked weird. The water is no more than chest deep, you can tell by the Honda. I'm no expert though.

I did find a range of surprisingly good cheese at Trader Joe and good prices but......it's imported.

Who were these neocons?

Things went south when Putin returned. Medvedev didn't even run in 2012, he stayed out to allow Putin to win and appoint him PM. So it didn't cost him a 2nd term. Things worked out as planned by Putin and Medvedev.

What was Obama not very happy about?

Don't get me started.
Medvedev looks like and idiot and sounds like an idiot, the puppet that he is.

But with that being said, he used to be ( at least) the window front for the so-called "liberal wing" of the Russian government, the one signalling that it'd like to cozy up to the West, sorta as it used to be back in the 90ies.

Putin used to be one of the "liberals" himself, until he finally decided to side with the "hardliners" in Russian government, once he realized that such approach made much more sense.

Things went immediately south again when the merry band decided to gang up on Libya and Syria making Medvedev look like an idiot....he lost his second presidential term right there assuming it was in the cards....you needed someone with a stronger hand on the tiller.

If the return of Putin was planned on not, Medvedev performance as president guaranteed he was going to be a one termer anyway.

By the way, Ukraine is getting some static on its line of communication with the US....predictably I would add...

"White House freezes Ukraine military package that includes lethal weapons"

If you think Hillary was or is a neocon, you've never met a neocon, and I have a bridge to sell you.
Hillary is an advocate for smart power.

Sure, lots of neocons supported Hillary over Trump in 2016, but that doesn't make her a neocon. It reflects neocons dislike of Trump.

Love to see the active discussions and opinions on here today. Good stuff.

The Ukraine military aid freeze is being misunderstood. There is the regular military aid, which is still going on the same. This is in the deal Congress puts on each year and gets updated every six months. The coast guard ships and the continued training make up the majority of the current aid. Then there was the emergency aid put together in case Putin moved his forces into attack mode. That includes some short range air defenses and extra anti-tank weapons. That part is still put together but wasn't deployed to give peace and dialog a chance. What I just said is actually in that article. Anyway, it appeared to have worked so why would we send it now... I know, spin away all you want as usual I don't care. Fine with me.
